Heels and dresses

pink_tink, 26 August, 2011 at 16:43 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi everyone,

Without sounding daft - I am just wondering if anyone has had their dress altered so it is LONGER? Or does anyone know if this is possible?

If not I guess I will just have to wear flats! :-( I just can`t find any I love as much as all the heels that I see!

Thank you :-)

    Hi Pink Tink,

I'm having my dress made so my dressmaker asked me how high my shoes were likely to be when she took my 1st measurements then made the dress slightly longer. By the 3rd fitting I had my shoes so he was able to heam (SP) it up. It it about half an inch of the floor which TBH I did'nt like at 1st but my mum made a good point if it was draging or touching the floor I may trip over it!!!!!! Not a good look on the day.

Is there no way you can find a pair you like before getting a dress? that way at least it can be taken up to the length you are happy with x

P.S never heard of alterations to make a dress longer before on shorter as the material won't be there to exstend it. Whay not have a work with the dress shop and ask them x

It's still worth talking to the shop. They don't cut the material til near to your wedding date, however early you've ordered it. depends on your wedding date and if they've started cutting yet - ask them now before it's too late.

    Good luck x
