Heels Vs. Flats

Mrs Bloom, 24 April, 2008 at 19:08 Posted on Planning 0 20

Which are you wearing?

I really want to be able to wear heels so I'll feel all tall and lovely and ladylike but i CAN'T walk in them (seriously, I can fall off a kitten heel) and I know they will hurt.

Is it such a bad thing if I wear a nice little pair of ballet pumps?

Then you should definitely wear the ballet pumps then! I think you need to be comfortable, too much to think about without worrying you'll topple over down the aisle (or anywhere else for that matter!)

You could get a lovely fair of flat shoes/ballet pumps so that they are still special... maybe with beading or a pair from french sole?

A good excuse for shoe shopping and buying a few pairs if you ask me!

That's what I was thinking - plus I figured if I buy heels I'll end up taking them off and my dress will drag on the floor and I'll probably fall over it!!!?)]

I would say go with what you're comfortable in. you're on your feet for a very long time.

would advise against having heels and changing later as i when i swopped my heels for flip flops later in evening my dress dragged on the floor and my H managed to step on it and make a hole in it? fortunately this was nearly the end of the night or he would've been[B)]?

I wanted flats because I am taller than H2B, but stand and walk more gracefully in heels, so am having ones with a small heel.

I'm wearing heels. They're 2.5 inches. I wanted higher, but h2b is only 4 inches taller than me and my tiara is 4cm, so I decided a smaller heel would be better.

I used to wear heels all the time, but fell out of love with them when I was at university and only wear them for going out now. I want to wear heels for the wedding as I feel more glamorous in them, so have bought a couple of pairs of high heels for work (3.5 inches plus) and have been wearing them daily to get me back used to wearing heels again.

I have a medical problem with my feet so I know I can't cope with heels for long. I've gone for kitten heels in the most comfortable range I can find plus a fairly tall tiara to compensate for the difference in height. Also as my BM's are all taller than me, they're wearing ballet pumps!

I ❤️❤️❤️ heels! I'd wear them to exercise if I could.
Flats make me feel fatter ?

But you can get some lovely ballet pumps. Just go with what you feel best in.

Same here. I used to live in heels, but since I've moved to Bangkok eveyone seems to live n flip flops and now I do! BUT I feel so different in heels, so might have to steal your idea and start wearing heels again for work. I'm a teacher so on my feet all day so it'll be good practise.

My wedding shoes are about 2.5 inches and I love them!

Why should there be a problem with flats ? As long as your dress is the right length that you won't trip over it.

I once saw a bride who wore platformed trainers on her big day.

I'm wearing heels, I'm normally a trainers girl, so I walk around in my shoes when I'm doing the house work so my feet will get used to them. I've also bought some flat shoes for the reception, just in case my feet can't take it anymore.

I'm 5ft 8 and wearing 2 3/4 inch heels, gotten so used to wearing heels that I would feel tiny without them ?, H2B is 6ft and I am going for a small tiara.

I read somewhere not to go any higher than a 3 inch heel for your wedding day, I can totally understand why some of you are opting for pumps, with me being the nut I am I go tip toe even when barefoot (sorry can't find the loopy smilie ? )

I'm wearing heels but nothing too big as H2b is only a little bit taller than me so I don't want to be taller than him. Going for a heel 3in max.

I've got a pair of skyscraping heels for the day but I have bought a pair of 'just-in-case' pumps for the inevitable moment when the pain gets too much. I wouldn't feel right in flats all day, heels just make me feel better about myself[:I]

I think I will have to go for something with a little heel maybe 1 1/2 inch because I'm only 5'3" and my Dad has already made comments saying I will need to wear heels so I look better!! I sympathise though because my feet always hurt in heels but ballet pumps just slip off my feet so I have no idea what I will end up with. I think if you can wear ballet pumps though that sounds like a very pretty option because you can get some really cute ones and its likely no one will see them anyway! Its either that or a little wedge shoe coz they should be easier to walk in, kitten heels are a nightmare! ?

I'm wearing just a small heel (1.5 inches) as I know I'll be standing up a lot and don't want aching feet! But as others have said heels make me feel more 'dressed up' than flats and I walk more gracefully in them.

I wore small heels in the daytime that I can wear again and ballet shoes for the evening. You could wear heels for the ceremony and some of the photos then seitch.
