I've never seen it, but just had to admit my wedding guilty pleasure to my OH so he didn't delete it off TiVo. I'm badly into say yes to the dress and I found the gown.

Is this the one where the groom books the wedding without the bride's input?

Can't believe he spent that much of the budget on a jolly to Thailand! Love DTTB but it is getting more ridiculous each series!

I've never seen any of these programmes. I don't like reality TV generally, but I feel like I'm devoting enough of my brain to wedding stuff without watching other people's weddings on TV as well!

Mine too! He moans and huffs and puffs but was already pointing out all the things that he did/didn't like!

I'm another that genuinely thought for a moment that there may not be a wedding last night - I missed the first few minutes but I know they made a lot of references to not having been together long, did they say at the beginning how long they'd been together?

I have to say, I wasn't massively taken with last night's episode. Obviously I know they're on a time limit to fit it all in and they wanted the coverage of the Thailand trip and the dress shops etc, but at the end if looked as if he'd actually put a lot of thought and effort into the venue, decorations, favours, cake etc and I'd have liked to have seen a bit more of them organising that and less of them eating scorpions and getting tattoos!

AWWWWW NOOO...i don't have cable tv... stamps foot.... lol!

Just have to stick to DTTB and Bridezillas on 'normal' TV! My h2b is also a secret watcher too... says he hates these progs but happily gives a running commentary when they're on. Lol

I am also addicted to say yes to the dress (though i prefer the bridesmaid one) i found the gown and Randy's wedding rescue. I cant stand however the Brides of Beverly Hills. Never really got into dont tell the bride but am going to try again now I am engaged to see if it makes a difference.

I watched the most recent episode today.

I hate how they're overdramatising everything. I get that they want it to make good tv, but actually it really turned me off. I mean, for example, when she got the dress and the beads had fallen off. My immediate thought would be to check if they had fallen off in the bag, and then get them hotglued or sewn back on, rather than freaking out (although there was no way she'd have been able to alter it to fit, so that freak-out was understandable). Also, it looked like he'd put loads of thought into the decor at the theatre and the reception - I'd have loved to see some focus on those details rather than seeing so much of Thailand. When the voiceover said "By sacrificing some decorations" I was like "Wait, what decorations?!"

Btw, can anyone explain to me what was the purpose of them having BMs? It seemed like the BMs were just sat with the rest of the audience - I'd expected them to be lining the sides of the steps or something, rather than the girls in the long dresses.

I'm afraid I just got annoyed with it!

Firstly, a model who doesn't like being centre of attention yet posed on tv in her underwear erm....

Secondly, they live up north and yet she was looking at getting married on a beach in Kent.

It just didn't ring true to me, but maybe I'm just cynical!

I love Say Yes To The Dress though and Randy's Rescues are fabulous! I want Randy to be my best friend ?

This came up a while ago, and someone on here said that they knew a couple who'd been on DTTB. Apparently, they don't get the money upfront - they get reimbursed after filming - and if they don't go through with the wedding they not only lose the £12k, they also have to pay something like £1,000 production costs per day of filming. So, it's pretty much guaranteed that they will get married, even if they don't want to.

I have read online about a fair few of the couples getting divorced not long after the show has aired, though.

The ones who had the whole fairytale wedding with helicopter/Jordan carriage etc a few series ago split up 6 months later.
