Hello

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie to hitched, so thought I'd say hello :-)

I'm getting married on the 30th June 2012 to my fiance, Marc.

Our venue is Great Fosters in Surrey, and we're hopefully getting married outside, so fingers crossed for the weather!

We're having a loose theme of vintage garden party/cricket teas (H2B is a HUGE cricket fan!)

    Hello and welcome....

I've only been on here a couple of months so i'm a relatively new newbie. June is a lovely month to get married-hope the weather holds out for you. Sounds like you've got a lovely theme planned. I've got a year and 3 months to get married-sooooooo looking forward to it ?.

Aww bless you, I really hope that the weather holds out for us, and I think that it would be beautiful ceremony outside!

Whereabouts are you getting married? That time will soon fly-by! Can't believe that I only have just over 4 months left till i tie the knot, and I just don't know where the time went!

27th April next year so a fair while to go yet but guess it'll give me plenty of time for planning eh? I'm ok now but I think I might start to panic when it gets to 27th April this year and we realise we only have a year to go!!!!!

My 30ths' 2 months after so as soon as the weddings' over I'll be planning that-eeeekkkkkk ?

    Hello Lovely :-)

We got engaged last May, and it's completely flown by! People kept saying it to me, and I didn't believe them, but blimey, wish I had a bit more time!

For the vintage theme, we're having a table of cakes instead of one "traditional" cake. So we've got a 3 tier Victoria Sponge as our main cake, a lemon drizzle cake, carrot cake, chocolate banana cake, a selection of cupcakes and scones with jam & cream. We're having a 2 course wedding breakfast and then having the cakes served along with tea and cakes outside on the lawn, along with an old fashioned ice-cream cart.

Here's a pic of all the "vintage" cake stands that I've collected so far, from charity shops & one from Laura Ashley in the sale:

    (sorry it's so big!)

I'm also having pictures of both sets of parents & Grandparents on their wedding days:

For our centre pieces, I'm having the main flowers as Gypsophylia & other english country garden flowers, like Daisy's but all in white. I'm having the Gyp in cream enamel jugs and the other flowers in little pots and jars, a but like this:

I'm having bunting hanging around in the trees in our garden area, and bunting along the front of our cake table.

October is beautiful time of year, and you could have an amazing rustic vintage theme. What colours are you having? I've tried to keep our colours simple with having ivory with hints of sage.

I love the idea of different cakes instead of one cake and would have done it if our venue was a bit closer to home (so I could make these myself!)

We are having a mix of purples for the flowers and my BM dresses are a light grey. We are having lots of teapots and teacups for centrepieces and jam as our favours.

I've got quite a lot sorted so far and most importantly I have chosen my dress Smiley smile

    Hello and congratulations!!

Great Fosters is a lovely venue. I was a bridesmaids at my friends wedding there last May. An outdoors ceremony would be great, the grounds are amazing.

    Thank you lovely :-)

I'm glad to hear someone else has been to a wedding there, puts me at ease!

There are so many people getting married in June, love it :-)

I'm finding the wedding planning ok, all the big things are done now, i'm just finding that it's the little niggly things that are the most stressful & paying for things!!!

How is everyone else getting on?
