Been engaged about a month now, joined here a couple of weeks ago, thought that i would introduce myself as this site has been rather helpful in the past few weeks!

Have done a couple of viewings in the Derbyshire area for venues, already one is top of our list. Will be getting married Nov/Dec 2013 we have worked our date down to a 2 weekends now just waiting to see if which weekend suits our work calendar

Looking forward to posting more and getting to know some of you folks

A nice winter wedding then? sounds fab!

Yeah - just waiting til this winter to re-view the venues we most like to see what they are like... (A couple have gardens, hoping they don't look too bare at winter!)

OH doing it abroad, how nice! :-)

The Q&A which this site has to ask venues, photographers etc is brilliant!

Have looked at Priest House, Donington Manor, Donington Park Farm house & Calke Abbey... have a few other places to look at still... Only moved into the area 12 months ago so still getting to know the area as well as trying to find a venue :-)

Oooo they're all lovely. I'd recommend looking at Sutton Bonington Hall too (not far from Castle Donington). Have you had a look at the venue list on here? That's where I found my venue ?

I have looked at their website, liked it as well... might book a viewing

Yeah I have... have been working through the websites picking out which ones i like :-)

The one of the things which i'm worried about for the venue is what will the grounds be like during Nov/Dec... don't want them looking bare in the photographs!

Congratulations and welcome to hitched!

Im also getting married in Derbyshire. We looked at loads of venues and chose Breadsall Priory. Their gardens are beautiful and the service so far has been excellent. Katie has always replied to my questions quickly, and there's been a few!
