Hello!

Twynnie, 27 August, 2012 at 15:23 Posted on Planning 0 6

I've been lurking around here for a few weeks now and thought it was about time I said hello to you all. I've already found the discussions here invaluable, and I love looking at everyone else's flashes!

I'm getting married June 22nd 2013 in Cambridgeshire - have already booked the church and reception venue and I have my dress. I'm currently sorting out a DJ, a wedding car and save the dates - am I on track do you think?

    Congratulations and welcome!

If you're doing save the dates, I would get them sent out as quickly as possible as it's only a few months before you'd be sending out the actual invitations.

Have you started looking at TOGs yet? They can get booked up fairly quickly too.

What about rings? If you need to order them they might take a while and if there is anything wrong and they need to be changed you don't want them to have to rush to get them finished.

Have you looked at bridesmaids dresses too? If you are getting ones from a bridal shop rather than the high street you need to allow for them to be made and delivered and for any alterations.

June is a popular month so you might want to start thinking about arranging meeting with florists soon.

There's no major rush for these things, but they're the things I'm hoping to get sorted first because they do book up and you don't want to miss out. I've already had to rethink my TOG because the one I chose wasn't free on my date in 2014! I'd rather have a mad few months getting it all done and getting deposits paid, then you can just relax a bit and take your time with the smaller things.

I'm having it in a marquee at Wimpole Hall - it's a beautiful National Trust property and my fiance like to go walking there, which is why we chose it as it's special to us. Here's a flash (hopefully)

Thanks for the help Tinytottori. I do actually have a TOG sorted already (just waiting for our copy of the contract to be returned) but I completely forgot to mention it!

    Here's her site:

I've found a ring I like online, but still mulling it over. OH is happy with any plain band so I'm not in a particular rush to get his.

I don't even have my bridesmaids sorted yet, let alone dresses. My sister is MOH but not sure if I'm having any others yet as I haven't asked!
