Hey everyone!

Even though I've been engaged 8 months, I've not written on the forums yet so thought now would be a good time to start!

My OH asked me to marry him on my 26th birthday in November, in the most private way possible - in our bedroom about 30 minutes after we had woken up! We have been together 8 years, own a house, 2 dogs and a cat, so the engagement was always a case of when, not if. We're getting married 7th June 2014, with the ceremony in Hampshire and reception in Berkshire. The church we want to get married in is very special to us, but because its not a normal practising church (Its over 500 years old and was made redundant in the 1970's) we require a special license, approved by the Archbishop of Canterbury!! Currently waiting for this to come through, so fingers crossed everyone

Anyway, thats me! A summer wedding with a dusky pink, romantic elegant theme. Am really looking forward to getting more involved in the forums

I hadn't told many people about our proposal as it was similar to yours, and not at all the hearts & flowers gushfest that folks expect!!! But it was perfectly suited to us!!!

Welcome and congratulations, my proposal was pretty much the same, he woke me up with breakfast and a ring...although didn't actually ask the question, we had been talking about getting married anyway so I knew what it was...would have been nice to be asked still! Lol

Thanks all lovely people!

The church is called St Marys, its very special to me as I have close family in the cemetary and have always wanted to get married there.

I've got most of the important things done; venue, photographer, cake, dress! I was so surprised, my first shopping trip, first shop, 5th dress. I completely wasnt expecting to find it so soon, but am so happy that I did.

Am potentially going to have these as my bridesmaid dresses, but it all depends on whether I have 2 or 3 bridesmaids. 2 are my best friends from school, and we asked my OH's sister, who is currently deciding if she wants to do it or not
