Hey all. ?

After weighing myself reluctantly the other day, I joined weightwatchers online on monday and have discovered that I need to lose 40lb.? I have decided to go with the points plan as a life without bread is just not worth living really. ?

So far this week has been a revelation as I have discovered exactly why Mr E and I are heavier than we want to be. I'm taking this week to get used to the point counting etc and so far have been pretty good. Well, once I figured out that a dessert spoon was considerably larger than a tablespoon.(? - perhaps this explains the poor quality of my homebaking)

It seems I cluster eat at night time. I find it really easy to stick to my plan up until around 6/7pm when I just want to eat eat eat. During the day whenever I feel tempted to waver I have just found myself something to do to keep busy but I am struggling to do so at night time. I have a 15 week old baby so cant really go out/to the gym etc at that time of night. Loud housework is also out and although I do tend to do my uni work in the evenings I am used to eating as I do it so need to find a way of breaking the habit.

What do you guys to when you are tempted? I think that breaking the habit of eating most of my calories at night time is going to be key to my weight loss and general fitness etc but am struggling with the willpower.

I am planning to up my exercise as well. I have been for a long walk with the pram the past couple of days and have found a local exercise class for mums and babies which should help. I have an exercise dvd which I hope to be able to do during nap time but as this is variable its not going to consistent. What do other mums do to increase their activity levels?

Heres hoping that this time next year I will be the weight I want to be. Thanks for any tips.

    Hi,

Well done for getting started! I'm also doing WW points, been back for 4 weeks now, although I previously lost 5 stone before having my son and putting 3 of them on again!! Oops. Once you have been doing it for a while you'll kind of get the hang of how many points something is. I've been at WW on and off for 3 years now and could tell you the points of quite a lot of things.

My tip for the evenings would be to find something that is low or no points and try to eat this. Do you like jelly? Sugar free jelly is 0 points and might satisfy the sweet cravings. Or if its savoury things some 0 point soups. I like to save the majority of my points for the evening, probably more than half of them I would spend on evening meal/snacks.

Keep going and hope this helps a bit. Oh and we all have bad days(or in my case weeks!), forget about them and move on.

    We can do it!

    Sarah

I am interested to tell the actual fact that I lost 20
pounds and have been maintaining from last 6 months. One fine day I noticed an interesting programme on TV that I would like to share. The entire programme is on just a few weight loss tips. Somehow I inspired about these tips.

We must celebrate for the initial loss of one pound and continue so on. I really believe one pound is really a great start! So celebrate the occation.

Avoid potato chips. Try to take fruits and low-fat snacks in between meals.

One interesting this is eat frozen chocolate or cookies slowly but not hurrily.

These are few. It worked for me.

Thanks Tinkerbull! I didnt know about the sugar free jelly, I think that will be a godsend. I think one of my things to fix is my night time sugar cravings so that should help a lot. Its also really easy to add fruit to so I will hopefully be able to substitute it in time. ? I have been a lot wiser with next weeks meal planning so I hope will find it easier to stick to. We will be upping our vegetable consumption by quite a bit. I'm hoping that if we eat lots and lots of what is good for us then we will want less of what is not.

Fingers crossed. I doubt I've lost anything this week but I have learned a lot so I am seeing that as a postitive thing.

? you know where I am in the evenings ?

I find a low fat hot choc and a low point cereal bar really helps in the evening.
