Hello there... I've been a lurker for a while, thought it might be time to introduce myself.

Basically my cousin is getting engaged very soon (her lovely man told me so, im so excited!) and she's asked me to be maid of honour when he does officially ask her.

I've also recently kind of half got engaged. Nothing like a real proposal yet, unlike you lovely ladies, but i'm hoping it will be one year tomorrow when he does officially ask me. We have talked about it though and already have some very real plans in the offing, so i thought i might just start posting.

Anyway the long and short of it is, i'm here to help plan my cousins wedding and find some ideas and help with planning my own. i hope you ladies don't mind, with me only being a 'sort of' fiancee!

    Welcome! anybody can join. our date is feb 14 but we only started planning 2 months ago so

    rushing about now trying to pull it all together. lots of nice people and good advice on here,

    so enjoy. (you should have everything sussed for your wedding after helping out your cousin)?

    Thanks Patients. I'm only 20 tomorrow (well in about an hour really!) and we're thinking of 2012 after we've both finished university for me and OH so another four years yet! I've already got plenty of ideas though!

    I'm really excited to start helping my cousin though, as it should be 2010 or 2011 when she gets married!

    Hello and welcome!

    I only got my ring and official "proposal" last week, and our wedding's been booked for months!

    It doesn't seem to always go the traditional way these days, I think with people living together and stuff it's a bit different.

    Anyway, I hope you enjoy helping out your cousin, at least when you get to planning your own wedding it will be a breeze! (?)

    Smiley smile that makes me feel better. he has hinted to me heavily that it will be a year today on my 21st when he'll actually get down on one knee. but we could be well on our way to actually having the wedding then! all i'd need to do would be book the places probably!

    Welcome! You are making me feel very old as a thirty something!!

    Sounds as though when you do finally get your proposal, you'll be well on the way with the planning.

    Best way to be, I reckon! Although mind you don't scare the groom!! Just kidding!

    Thanks Smiley smile im trying not to scare him. actually he worried me yesterday, we're thinking christmas 2012 and he said 'can there be a lot of santas everywhere? it would be so much fun' when i pointed out it might look a bit tacky he sulked.
