Hello everyone

Hi everyone

I used to hitch regularly back in ****. Got married 21st July 2007 and had reception at Stone Manor Hotel.

I've been getting quite bored and lonely recently so thought I'd sign back in to chat to everyone, give advice and fill up sometime!

Things have changed here for sure! Anyone about that remembers me? My log in was Musicalsoul (couldn't log in to that for some reason!), I'm from West Midlands.

? Here's me in my beautiful dress - its Maggie Sottero - Symphony ?

    I don't remember you (only really joined hitched this year) but wanted to say hi, and do please stay around, it's always good to get input from some OMs!

    Thank you. I will pop in from time to time!

    My specialist subject is music. I love dresses and have lots of experience on dress wobbles as I changed my dress! I am very organised too so can offer hints and tips.

    When is your wedding?

    How topical, I've discovered itunes tonight*, currently looking for all our favourite songs in insturmental or swing versions. It's probably time I opened the ipod that's been sitting in the bedroom unopened since Christmas!

    * I know I'm a good 5 years behind everyone else but I'm a radio gal!

    I-Tunes - well you will sure have fun there!

    Are you looking for anything in particular? I have 1000s of tunes in my collection so if I can help I will.

    Michael Jackson, Queen, Oasis, other random ones. It's for when we are eating, don't want any vocals on them, but want them to liven up a little towards the end so it gets people in the mood for dancing.

    My warped sense of humour is loving picking out such titles as;

    #I want to break free

    #Another one bites the dust

    #Leave me alone

    # She's out of my life

    # They don't care about us

    I'm having a wobble!!!

    I saw my perfect dress in one of the 1st magazines i bought when we 1st got engaged (january) and went to a few shops and tried lots on, and loved lots, then i saw "my dress" in the local bridal shop. I tried it on and it was gorgeous, even my friend who i'd dragged everywhere said it was the one.

    But I'm still wobbling. I have decided not to get my dress from this shop as the service wasnt great at all, (I went in on 3 occasions just to look at it and they didnt even remember who i was) so im getting it in portsmouth - when i went there they had it in a different colour and it was too big (i know thats not the one im having) I have started to get a bit nervous about it though, and its not helping looking at other dresses in mags, even tho i havent seen a prettier one for me. Should i go and try on more? I did go back to my local shop but there was a "back in 10 mins" sign that didnt even budge after me waiting 45 minutes - you can see why I dont want it from here!!

    I'm just after reassurance I think? ? It doesnt help that i have 12 months to wait either, so not due for a fitting til about november.

    xxx

    I woudl definitely say keep trying on. The problem I had was buying on a whim, I bought the frist dress I saw and tried on and not thought properly about it. Also its really difficult to see and feel how it will fit when the samples are not your correct size too.

    So have a little more of a shop around and if they let you take photos. I found it so useful the second time round to look back after all the emotion and excitement had gone. I even went shopping on my own for a few shops so that I knew that the decision was mine and not swayed by someone else!

    Also, don't leave it too long becasue of the time it takes to order etc...

    Does this help?

    Nope there are still a few of us old marrieds about. I don't get on as much as I'd like though.

    Yep wedding seems years ago now... got something else happening... our first baby is due - next week!

    Glad things are going well with the band. Nice to see you back.

    All the best - you will be fine. At least you haven't done what i did and buy one and have to sell it to get the other one!

    You will still get a buzz I reckon. Don't worry about it and relax, enjoy and make the most of the experience. Even try styles you wouln't normally and you may be pleasantly suprised!

    I will say though the excitement and buzz on the morning of your day when you put YOUR dress on will be so different and amazing!

    I'll keep an eye out for you and I would love to know how you're getting on. ?
