Thank you so much for you're welcome...its so friendly on here!

Get married on Halloween - 40 days away according to Hitched! Most of the planning is already done, as we started it about 10 months ago...but I like being creative and want to make more stuff but I have run out of ideas.... So much so that I am planning Christmas now because I seem to have run out of wedding stuff to do! Any ideas for anything that isn't at all necessary, but that could be a lot of fun then let me know!

    Hi Mrs. Lowndes,

Eurgh...don't speak to me about diets, I am on one too and its not even a sensible one, its a fad-unhealthy-but-gives-immediate-results-until-you-eat-normally-again diet! Its all about the dress!

Hi Cookie - like your name too (can you tell by my piccie?!!) Mmmmmmmm coookies...

What diet is it you're following? I've done Cambridge Diet, Lighter Life, Cabbage Soup...... you name it! On Weight Watchers now though which works the best for me - lost about a stone so far since August. Did lose weight on the quick fix ones (a stone a week) but put it all back on again as soon as I finished it!

Welcome to Hitched - sounds like you've not got much more planning to do! x

The diet is the Cambridge Diet, its so DEPRESSING!!!! Its three sachets of soup, milkshake or porrige (!) a day and thats it, and its £35 a week so reasonably expensive too...but if you stick to it it does work. Be warned though...someone died from pretty much the same thing not long ago...thats why I cheat occasionnaly and actually eat some proper food too! That and I like to check my teeth still work!

Oooh, the day, I am SO unbelievely excited! Colour theme is autumnal...burnt orages, golds, creams, burgandys....we are having a civil wedding and then having the reception on a Vineyard in sussex...100 people for a sit down meal and then about 30 more in the evening. Food is Pumpkin Soup for starters (made by OH, and appropriate because its Halloween), followed by a Hog Roast, followed by various deserts and cheese (LOTS of cheese!). We have hired a few props - a tin can alley and coconut shy just for the fun of it. Am a little regretful about that as i am convinced it will be rainy and windy (i am normally a very positive person, but at least if i think the weather will be rubbish I can only be thrilled if its not, and not disappointed if it is!). Hmmm, what else? We have a wedding singer for the entertainment, followed by a DJ. 3 bridesmaids, oh, and a Best Lady - get us being all untraditional ?

Cookie your day sounds awesome! Mmm love pumpkin soup too - I make the Tana Ramsay version. Can't wait to see your wedding report!

Oh and Cambridge Diet is super depressing! Like I say, lost about a stone a week for 2 weeks and then was so miserable I gave up (was going to bed at 6pm and my breath was horrid!) How are you going on it so far though? The chocolate orange and mint milkshakes were the only things I could stomach on it - gets a bit dull after a while eh?! Loads cheaper than Lighter Life though - paid about £90 a week for that.

You're going to get some wicked pics of your day - especially people doing the coconut shy etc! Love the originality of it all ?

    Hello Spangles,

I am going ok...i am into week 7 now and am *just* about on track for a stone a month, so going a bit slower than you! I know i am going to put the weight straight back on again, but right now I am just focusing on the dress...after the big day I shall go back to a normal healthy diet which I was doing before the Cambridge...its just a shame that the healthy way is always the slower way....sod's law.

Oooh....I am going to look up that Tana Ramsey version, i havent seen it and OH usually just makes it up as he goes along which probably isnt the best idea when making it for 100 poeple!

Wow you're doing super well Cookie! I don't think you'll put the weight back on again - if you do a more manageable diet straight after you'll be grand.

    Tana Ramsay version: http://goodfood.uktv.co.uk/recipe/pumpkin-soup-1

It is seriously lush! Not sure how easy it is to increase the recipe to feed 100 but your OH is definitely a keeper if he manages it! x

Ignore my last question, dont quite know how it missed all this detail (clearly my head cold is making me stupid) - It sounds great, love it. Im also a sussex bride and would love to know where you hire props from? I know what you mean about worrying about weather, and think your doing the right thing. Last halloween I put a bucket off water in the garden for apple bobbing, thinking it would freeze over, and it was actually really popular!

    Afternoon Ladies!

I would love to flash some stuff (that has been my favorite part of this website so far, love looking at all the photos!) but dont have any photos yet - I shall endavour to take some tonight when I get home!

The props company is: http://www.amazingpartythemes.com/one.htm and I think they are based in Brighton, but I dont know why I think that.

Moya, the ceremony is in The Manor House in Littlehampton, and the reception is in Ferring (near Worthing). Where in West Sussex are you? A friend of a friend is doing the Hog Roast for us, but all I can remember is his name is Kevin...I shall try to find out the rest of the deatils for you at some point!

Becky - 12 days, AHHHHHH!!!! We made out Order of the Day cards the weekend just gone, we have tended to go down the homemade route, not just because it can often (but not always!) be cheaper but because we (and especially i) love doing that kind of stuff, and I need a new project! Cant think of anything else to make.... What else have you found yourself doing now its nearer the time?

For favours we have bought 200 of those tiny little jam jars (like you get in hotels with breakfast) and MIL has made Raspberry Jam and Caremalised Red Onion Chutney so each of the guest will get those. (MIL is amazing - she has just made some Elderberry Vodka...im hoping that there'll be some left for Christmas!) Apart from the kids who I have spent a fortune on just because I cant resist...lots of little toys/sweets/pens/games etc!

The only thing I can think of that I am still unsure on is how to do the seating plan. One idea was to write it on a large mirror which I think would look quite cool in photos of people looking for their names, but i think it could also look quite messy. Has anyone got any ideas that are slightly 'different'?

Im just like you cookiemonster, I love making things, and have done everything handmade for the wedding! Other than the dress though I havent flashed anything either...really must get round to that!

We live in Scaynes Hill, just outside Haywards heath, so not too far from you! We are getting married in St Peters Church in North Chailey and then HIghley Manor in Balcmobe for the reception.

My mum sounds like your MIL, she has just made elderflower champagne, I had some last night and it was lush!! And shes always making jams, chutneys, and great homemade soups!

I was just thinking of using a Whiteboard marker so that it rubs off easily...but maybe too easily if people are looking for their names with their fingers!

Nothing personally as I'm a firm bliever that there are professionals out there who are experts in this arena and I just seem to be chucking money at them... it has absolutely nothing at all to do with fact that I haven't got a creative bone in my body ?

I tell a lie, I will be going home tonight to put together the goody bags for our girl ushers, bridesmaids, usher etc.... and putting ribbons around our cracker favours... that's about it!!

I do have one of my girl ushers (it's all about the delegation!) printing out these for us ( Martha says to have them as part of the programme but we're just having them as A5 sheets, sitting on the chairs at the meal so that people use it as a wee ice breaker... plus we're getting married in Richmond Park and have had a tree design on our invites!)

    https://www.marthastewart.com/620631/invitations-cards-stationery?autonomy_kw=which+tree+did+you+fall

She's also doing some litle flags for my wee bridesmaids to walk around calling people to dinner and before the first dance... again, completed knicked from Martha!

Am loving your jam idea... it sounds lush!

If it was done in really nice handwriting almost like scroll it might not look as "messy" if you know what I mean? If I did it in my handwriting gosh people wouldnt be able to read their own nams!!!! lol

Above are our place names...swiss stamps on them because we actually live in Zurich at the moment. Below are our Order of the Days:

    Our post box for cards:

Some random candles we found that were very appropriate, not sure where we're going to put then yet though!

Homemade bunting - we love glue guns in this house!

Ah, sorry about such big pics - I have no idea how to make them smaller! But I am going to add some more anyway ?

These first two are two of the three bridesmaids dresses, i wantede them to go for same colour and material, but different designs. The third bridesmaid lives in Singapore so she is getting hers made there and doesnt have a photo:

My AMAZING shoes, and our ice cream trike!

Unfortunately dress and jewellery cant go on here because I know OH comes on! He has had to see the shoes because we are pracitising our first dance (which is hilarious, we're both useless!).

    Anyway, hope you enjoyed looking!
