Wow, i cant believe i have been married for 2 weeks today! Ive just spent the morning phoning every company under the sun to change my details, and thought that finally i could grab 20 mins to do my report.
I havent seen any of the professional pics yet, so everything i have is coppied and pasted off of others pics from facebook!
So, i guess i should satrt from the beggining - i will try not to bore you!
Thursday 7th may (day before)
My mum arrived in the morning with my cousin and i left mum with the kids while my cousin and i and my cbm went to the venue to decorate it. I broke not 1 but 2 table centres during setting up so was in a blind panic, but managed to replace them in time! I was really pleased with the way the tables were set, and all my hard work with sticking ribbon on everything was worth it. I forgot to take a blinking photo!!!
After that i packed the boys of and my husband to be to his parents, and settled down to watch mama mia with a glas of champers and a chinese with mum, my cbm and my sister (other bridesmaid)
And then something odd happened. I calmed down. Totally. I swear someone must have slipped me a vallium. I wasnt nervous or aprehensive or anything, and didnt worry about the details as i finally got to a point where i couldnt do any more. if it went wrong it went wrong.
I had a shower and read through the vows etc that we had chosen and went to sleep. and slept well!
Friday 8th may - wedding day!
I got up early, along with everyone else, mum forced me to eat breakfast and i loaded the dishwasher etc!
I popped my underwear on under my dressing gown and waited for my other cousin to arrive to do my hair. She came at 8.30am and did me first. The makeup girl arrived at 9.15 at which time i was ready for her. She commented that it was the calmest pre wedding house she had ever been in!
The flowers arrived at 9.30 and i have to say that is the first time i had a bit of a wobble - they were so beautiful, much better than i had possibly imagined and i had a bit of an emotional few seconds.
My dad arrived at about 10, and made himself scarce while my mum was flapping!
The car rrived and took my bridesmaids to the register office, but unfortunatly i still wasnt dressed so mum decided to get a taxi down instead.
She dressed me, which didnt take long, booked a taxi which came quickly, and she loaded it up with all of our luggage for over night and took it down to the hotel - how glamorous for her!
So, then it was just me and dad. We had a vodka each (!) and he gave me some money as a secret (he didnt even tell his mrs he was giving it to us) to help out with stuff with mr chickens job being gone in a week and a half, which made me well up. Then it was time to go at 11.40am. It felt so strange not taking a handbag! My neighbour came out to watch me go, and soon enough we were there.
I arrived and unfortuantly ther photographer was no-where to be seen, so i didnt get any pics of me arriving or with the car which is a shame. (and a waste of money really!) the tog was a friend and he was stuck inside with other guests!
No-one had gone in up to the room yet, so i had to hide round the corner until they did. My bridesmaids dad turned up and took some photos of before though so im hoping to get a copy.
Then once everyone had gone up stairs, i was called in for the interview, which was easy, and then it was right GO!!
The music started, then stopped again which confussed me, and my pageboys went all shy and didnt want to walk in! The music started again and i encouraged them by being brave and just going for it! It meant i went in a bit early, andd the part of the music i wanted to walk in to was only on when i had got to the end, but the boys and bms were still walking in so everyone got to hear it anyway.
They asked who was giving me away, and my dad siad he was - and i forgot to kiss him! Fell bad about that, but not sure if its traddition.......
Then it was the ceremony, it was nice, and we had a few laughs during it - both of our hands were sweaty and swollen up as it was warm and we couldnt get the rings on! We had the music on at the worng timne again a couple of times, which we all laughed at, and then to walk out to indiana jones we made the registra make small talk with us until the exact moment we needed to walk off! The music made everyone laugh out loud which is what we wanted. We got the ceremony videoed so im really pleased.
Then we had a few pics, then on to the steps for confetti. A few people had turned up to watch us come out which was nice.
We went over to the hotel for drinks, and spent the whole time mingling. The photograpger gave a spare camera to my eldest son so he took lots of snaps of people which was great.
Then we were called to dinner, and it was so strange being announced into the room!
Food was lovely, and speeches fab. I really didnt know if mr chicken would be able to do it, but he did and it was great - he told of what heis first words to me were "oi new girl, fany a drink?" and ended with a toast to me of "oi, new bride, fancy a drink!" The best man was fab, and had a t-shirt made for me and the kids of mrchicken on holiday sunbathing years ago, with his shorts all pulled up in a strange manor, and i thought they were fab.
The surprise of the day was when the co-oridinator came over and said, 3 speeches......... i was like - no! My dads not doing one! But it was my mum who did it! I had no idea, and she did a lovely speach which she had only decided to do the night before. Someone videoed them, so im hoping to get a copy.
We cut the cake (which was really really hard to do!) which looked beautiful,
and then mingled.
We headed up to our room after and anopther surprise - we had been upgraded to the brand new honeymoon suite!! It was lovely, with a lounge etc.
Then i started to get annoyed. All my underwear had ridden up and my petticoat up, and i was uncomfortable. I needed help. As i went off to find my mum the fire alarms went off!!!
We were all evacuated on to the street! Someone i knew was walking past though so at least i got to show my dress off! We found out later that it was my mother in law that had set it off! We went back in, and i ended up taking all my clothers off, removing my underwear totally. I spent the whole evening why i even bothered to wear it in the first place - the dress fitted much better without, and was much more comfortable!
Then the evening started, and tbh i dodnt really remember it too much as it was just constant talking to people. We had our first dance, which i wasnt worried aboout, as i was just so chilled by this point!
Some people left earlier than expected, so by the end time of 1am, there was just me, hubby, bridesmaid, and about 6 guests. It was great! Hubby and best mans gf did a whole routine to flashdance which was hilarious, and is now on facebook - all the staff came in and watched too!, and then me and him got to have a last dance all on our own- video also on facebook. Dont know if these links will work but they might!
My mum had forggoten how to hook my dress up at the back, so i had to loop it round my wrist, but by the end of the night i stopped caring and just hauled it about - i look like im carriying a duvet!!
Then, i thanked everyone and off we went!
Our wedding night, was um, interesting......after 9 years together its not like we were going to be ripping eachothers clothes off, but we managed a bit of a canoodle, before deciding we were far to knackered and going to bed!!
Saturday 9th
We all met for breakfast - we were first down and so spent about 3 hours in the restaurant chatting to guests that had stayed, then it was time to leave. We went home and unwrapped gifts with the kids, and packed for the honeymooon.
Honeymoon
Was totally fab. Had such a great time. I put on half a stone while i was there though!! We got back monday morning, and i have spent the week trying to get back to normal!
I will do an N+P list soon!
