Hello I'm new here :-)

LeedsBride, 23 May, 2011 at 20:52 Posted on Planning 0 22

I just thought I'd say hello as I've been looking at the website and forum for a few days now. I only got engaged a couple of weeks ago and haven't set a definite date yet, but I'm starting to look into possible venues. We both want a small wedding as we're on a tight(ish) budget.

Is it bad that I've already seen a dress that I love? Smiley laugh

    Welcome to hitched!

I picked my dress out pretty much on the day I got engaged.

Its a year later and we have only just set a date, but my dress has always been the one thing I have known to be sorted.

Most important part of the day imo! Smiley laugh

Thank you :-) The one Ive seen is an eBay shop, but not sure if to order it yet, as I'm wanting to get in shape for the wedding, so it might not fit by the time we get married! but on the other hand, I wouldn't want to miss it and it not be availale any more ... what to do!

You could always get it altered? Depending on how many dress sizes you are planning on changing it by (and the style of the dress)

Would be a shame to miss a bargain ?

Here is the dress I've fallen in love with:

I would only be changing by 1 size I think (hopefully anyway - I dont want to be stick thin!)

    Its a lovely dress......

It took me ages to pick mine, I changed my mind loads of times on what style I wanted.

When are you hoping to get married? x

Aww...it gets very real when you set a date! When I joined hitched I had 2 years to go, but then I brought the wedding forward and changed all my plans on their heads!

Have a fab time planning, enjoy it!

Hello and welcome to Hitched, I'm in Leeds too ?

Fab dress - have you actually been to any shops to try dresses on yet? I had a dress picked out for ages and 'knew' it was the one I wanted, yet when I went to a bridal shop and tried on similar ones, the style just didn't do anything for me and my dress is now completely different to anything I ever thought I'd have! Love it though!

Enjoy your planning, it;s so exciting

Thanks everyone, there does seem to be a lot of us from Leeds here! ?

I think I will need to go and try some on that are similar to that style, as I think the last time I wore a dress of any sort was when I was about 5 or 6 years old ? so no idea what would look good on me. I just hope that the eBay shop still sells that dress if I do decide on that one ?
