Hi all,
I've been lurking around on and off for a couple of weeks but felt it was now time to dip my toe in the waters of Hitched and introduce myself! I'm a chemistry teacher in Scotland so currently on holiday from school and busy trying to get lots planned! We are having a humanist ceremony in a central Edinburgh hotel followed by a ceilidh and music from a band called The Wee Small Hours (who are fab!) next July!
So far we have:
venue (stunning georgian building)
celebrant (lovely chap who has already spent ages with us discussing options, looking forward to writing our ceremony next year)
photographer (Blue Sky Photography, VOWS awards winners)
band (The Wee Small Hours)
colour scheme (green/pink)
florist (had first meeting yesterday- not massively into flowers but think I'm going to start being more enthusiastic now!)
piper (for the all important 'Highland Cathedral')
favours (old teacups that I'm making into candles for the ladies, and I'm thinking personalised matchbooks for the men)
gents attire (easy really, not bought but having a kilt made in his tartan as his wedding gift, bridal party will all be in their own tartans rather than anything too matchy)
save the dates (which I'm trying to get written this week but have suddenly had a wee bridezilla moment because I don't have a nice pen so the boy has been sent to get one on his way home)
Still to get:
my dress
bridesmaid dress
invitations
cars (not sure if we are going to bother!)
