Hello lurkers!

I lurked a good six months before I 'came out' - my main reason was that I wasn't enagaged and I felt like a bit of a fraud posting on a wedding website's forum.

As you can see from my post count, I have made up for it though.

I think it took me a while because everyone seemed like such good friends and I'm quite shy at first, daft I know! I'm not sure why I chose tonight I just told myself to get on with it!

I think I lurked for a while before actually posting.

I was just a bit worried that people would ignore me and assume I was trying to sell my wares rather than actually just joining in and/or being helpful. I do still "worry" about that sometimes & often i'll keep my beak shut and just read posts rather than replying.

I think i've been posting a bit more since also becoming a b2b, I feel a bit more legit now!

I don't post very often because threads often seem more like conversations between people who know each other well already TBH.

Ah but people only get to know each other by getting involved and stuck in!

Very, very true but I don't get chance to stay on here for long enough to get really stuck in. Constant interruptions in this house. Even now while I'm still posting my bath is getting cold LOL!!

That's what I told myself! I wasn't put off by the fact you are all close, I liked that about it. Just needed the courage to jump in!

Not that much of a newbie, but this. Of course once you start posting you realise it's silly and that the people on here are all rather nice and want people to beon here to have more to talk about.

I have hesitated posting, because as others have said everyone seems so close and I'd feel like I was gatecrashing a good party. But I have felt more brave lately and commented a few little things here and there.

Hello All, I'd like to come out of lurkdem too please. I'm Becky, I'm a scientist, I'm getting married next year to my OH. We live in Suffolk with our crazy huge dog and my horse, where we drink lots of wine happily in our little cottage. Anyway I've posted a few times on WP but get a bit 'weddinged' out so I've lurked here a bit but you've all been so welcoming to newbies I thought it was time to say hello.

I'm definitely more of a lurker than a poster! I go through phases of posting and not posting- but I am usually always lurking. I enjoy reading through threads and often someone has already posted what I am thinking so do not feel the need to respond. I rarely feel the need to start threads because a quick search often reveals that someone has already ask something similar in the past. I am more likely to post on a thread if: someone hasn't said what I am thinking, it is a topic I feel I know something about / have something to contribute or it is not too personal.

Im Laura, Im a PA. Ive been married to OH since November 2012. We have our own house which we are in the midst of doing up. I have a dog, he's my baby. Going on honeymoon in 4days time to America....

I also drink, eat chocolate and cake....and any other naughty food available!

OT seemed like a scary place where everyone knew everyone so I didn't want to burst in uninvited!

I'm Hannah and I'm an admin assistant in Oxford. I'm getting married next May, and originally started lurking on WP, but got a bit bored and wandered over to OT. I am also a chocolate/cheese/wine lover.

Hello, Ok *hold hands up* im a lurker, oooooo I feel better now ive come out.

Im over on WP mostly but have started to have a nose on here. I dont post that much on here as I dont get chance in the day and when I get home from work I feel like ive missed all the fun. Why didnt I know about hitched years ago when i worked in a call centre, You'd of never got me off this then ha.

I lurked because I was a little bit bashful and you all seemed to know each other.

i delurked because I felt embarrassed I know so much about you and you know nothing of me. And work has been particularly hideous recently and it would be lovely to escape and 'talk' to nice people instead of having the same old dull work conversations.

Lurking also forced on me by Samsung! I lurked on OT because I can justify being on Wedding Planning more as being productive. I am either working or out with no time in between (cant remember the last full TV programme I watched) so always feel guilty over here. There must be so many lurkers. The other night I went to bed and it said there were 108 guests on Hitched and 4 members online! x
