Hello March ladies!!

Alice_In_Wonderland, 20 February, 2013 at 11:12 Posted on Planning 0 103

Just over a week til the first March wedding, eek!!! ?

How are we all getting on?? Ready?!
We're picking up our banns from the church in our parish tonight (getting married out of parish) - has suddenly hit home that this is really happening, and SOON!! ?
Payday on monday so I can finally get the few bits & bobs left to get, about time too!!
Have just been looking at the work schedule, and I'm on a course tomorrow until next Tuesday so I only have 8 actual working days left til wedding/honeymoon annual leave begins!!

I'm stressed, nervous, terrified, and very excited!!! ? How about you lot?!

We're 30th March so it's 5 weeks on Saturday til the wedding! I'm so flipping excited! I'm not nervous about actually getting married, that bit feels so right but I'm nervous about the day, that everything goes ok, my guests are happy, I look good etc etc.

We went to the venue on Friday to discuss final details which was a really reassuring appointment and I need to sort out a few bits to send to them which I think I'll do Saturday, it's OH's stag do and my son is stopping at his Grandma's so I'll have the house free to get wedding-y ?

Will pick up the rings next week which is the only other important bit really.

We had our final meeting with the venue a couple of weeks ago, and like you, I found it really reassuring. He'd thought of a few things to clarify with me that I hadn't even thought of, so it was really good to know that he's on the case!

I'm gonna set OH on the task of mahoosive house cleaning this weekend!! ? Will give me space to get wedding-y too!! ?

We're on 14th March so 3 weeks tomorrow - eeeeek! Am also much more excited than nervous, just wish it was here already.

Had our final meetings and, apart form the final venue balance and the cake, we're all paid up and ready to go. I took all my DIY'd bits home to my Mum and Dad's last weekend so they're all gathered in one place. That was really satisfying and made it all seem very real and close.

Just 2 more weeks of work to go after this one, then it's 3 weeks of blissful time off to go and become Mrs P!

I hope the weather starts to get a bit warmer for us all in March. March last year was really hot but I can't see that happening again this year!

I know, last year it was all T-shirts and sunshine...this year we'll be lucky if we escape snow!

Has anyone thought about a coverup for their dress in case it is bitter? I'm in denial and have nothing.

If the weather's bad then we just won't really go outside (ceremony & reception in same venue) except for some photos but i'm sure adrenaline will keep me warm.

The same date last year was glorious but I've warned OH we could still get snow in March!

Also in denial about the weather and have nothing to cover me if it's cold!

Same for my poor BMS, and one of them has Raynaud's... feel a bit guilty about that!! ?

I was a March bride 2 years ago (couldnt resist openning this thread!)

We had a lovely dry day but it was a bit brisk. I had got pashminas (well, £1 pashmina style scalves!) for me and my b.maids. my little one used hers but the oldest ones didnt and I didnt feel the cold one bit.

I think it must have been the adrenaline but I wondered around outside for photos feeling fine!

The guests stayed out for the group photos but then went in for warmth as we did our couples shots!

We are the 15th March - starting to get very excited now but then I've only had just over 7 weeks to plan so not really had long to wait anyway!

I really need to get flowers sorted but apart from that we are ready, I get to pick my dress up at the weekend which I'm really excited about and it's also my hen do this weekend.

Alice_In_Wonderland - We are also getting married out of parish and picked our Banns up from our parish last weekend - that really made it real!

I can feel panic in the background but trying not to let it get to me!

    How are you all feeling?

I've bought the bridesmaids some ivory pashminas from ebay, think they were about £3 each so I don't really care what happens to them! They're dresses are short though so if it is chilly then I think they'll feel it.

Mums got me and my OH a cardigan thingy. It was only last week as well. Still hoping for warm weather - but honestly, even if its a little warmer than now, I wouldnt mind. I said to OH last night, snow wouldnt be awful it was just a light settling of it (like where it just settles on the tips of grass only) as itd be pretty - but soooo not wanting more of it! Rain - I think weve always just considered, it'd rain any day of the year regardless of the season so that cant be helped. I just want to be warm, with no hayfever!

I will say - now I've had my hen weekend - I'm soooooooo blimmin excited!! Before hand, I was wondering why I found the idea of my hen do more exciting - but now, nothings stopping the excitment!

I can say I'm finally not stressed! Got nothing too stress about really... but I will say I am absolutely terrified of walking down the aisle though. I hate people looking at me - but hopefully once I'm all dressed up, Dad at my side and my music on, it'll make me more confident and everyone says you never notice anyone but your OH. Same with the first dance - I so do not want to do it. OH really did want too, so I couldnt really get out of it. Again, everyone says I'd have enough alcohol in me to not really think about. Still dreading it though! But thankfully thats it! The excitement is pushing them thoughts away!

? I keep giggling at the thought of him wearing it too. Hes 6'2 large built - and I've got a small sized 3/4 sleeve length bolero sized cardigan. I dont think he'd even get his arm in it! ?

Hello everyone! Not been here for a while but spotted this thread and wanted to join in!

We're 23rd March so not long to go at all... OH had his stag last weekend and mine is a week on Sat... Once that's done then its all systems go! I still feel like I have lots to do but I'm sure it will all come together. Went for my nearly final dress fitting yesterday and finally got to see it more like my finished dress. I've had rather a lot cut off the length to make it into a tea dress style and it was the first time I'd tried it... So relieved, it was perfect Smiley smile

We also have the massive task of decorating the venue and church the day before as ours is a very DIY wedding but I'm looking forward to getting everyone together for that and also seeing some of my family that I haven't seen in a while who are coming a day early to help.

As for cold weather I'm still holding out hope that with a month to go our lovely weather will still appear!! May have to get emergency tights and cardigans for the little bridesmaids... Ill just brave it!! Not sure if OH will want a cardigan too - loved that thought!!!

Good to hear everyone sounds on track, looking forward to seeing the photos start to appear... X

We're on 8th March, I'm wobbling big time about my hair/accessories, veil/no veil etc. Also worried the kids (6 months & 19 months) will be covered in sick/snot/chocolate before the photos! Really excited though.

Was just about to apologise for a 2012 March bride crashing in! Ha!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed you all have the amazing weather I had last year - but if you don't, don't worry. It will still be the best day of your life.

I can't believe how close it is for you all! Eeeeeekkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!

    And breath!

It is so exciting though, especially when you don't have many days left at work!

I had a surprise coffee morning with cake and gifts yesterday which was such a surprise. My lovely colleagues had got me some really thoughtful gifts, my fave is that they have paid for me to go and have my make up done on the morning of the wedding. I was just going to do it myself due to the time frame and cost element. I'm so pleased as I have nightmare skin, usually very red cheeks which make me look like a drunk elf. Going to have a trial tomorrow!

Wow that's so nice of your colleagues ?

It's almost March now ladies ?

I'm starting to stay up all night thinking about wedding things and panicking when I think of something that's still not quite organised. We still need to meet with our venue for the final time as they cancelled on us last minute on Thursday, but we get to enjoy a free meal there for the inconvenience so we're secretly happy about it! I ordered my groom's wedding present and my stockings today and I can't stop trawling through ebay trying to find last minute bits. I'm always worrying that I have missed something out.

Are all you ladies planning on contacting your suppliers just before the wedding to check on them? I'm paranoid about someone not turning up but they are probably sick of hearing from me ?

OMG, THIS! I am exactly the same - desperately want to contact everyone and confirm (for the millionth time!) that all is okay...but pretty sure they must all HATE me now because of the sheer volume of emails I've sent.

The one thing I'm most paranoid about is the flowers...because they're just so out of my control until the day itself.

I did cave in today though and bought a furry jacket-y thing in case the weather is still like this in 3 weeks' time...I think I'll just leave the labels on and send it back if I don't need it on the day.

I plan on checking in with all suppliers in the week or two running up to the wedding despite the fact that I've been in contact with them over the last few weeks, some more regularly than others!

I have no idea what to get as a present for OH.

Hi fellow March brides! Our wedding is 24th, so 4 weeks on Sunday! it sounds like we're all pretty prepared, check us out!

My only things left to buy are bridesmaid shoes and little venue decorations like tea lights etc...oh, and my chief bridesmaid has just revealed she's pregnant so we are having a panic 'can she get her boobs in her dress' session tomorrow! If not, I'm happy for her to have a different dress to the other bridesmaid, as long as its purple I don't mind!!

My fiancé decided to point out today 'the wedding's quite close now isn't it, I was looking at my calendar at work today'!! Um, duh!!! Men crack me up, they have no idea lol

    Good luck everyone :o) xxx

He's getting you, what more could he want ?

5 Weeks and 1 day to go. Wow when did that happen? We had a chat with the wedding coordinator on Wednesday and paid all the money. Booked the photographer today. Trying to sort out a make up artist and hair but it can wait. Need to source some flowers though. The rest is all just little bits and bobs. I have a fluffy shrug thing if its cold but hoping love will keep me warm.

Have any of you been breaking your shoes in yet? I spent an hour and a half in mine today...I think I need to get my some blister plasters just in case!

Not long to go for us all now - it's March on Friday, wwwwwwoooooooooooooooo!!!

I keep forgetting to wear my shoes in! They really rub as well but I'm contemplating getting a flat pair or some converse for the evening depending on how much is left in the budget.
