help..

maxi-qu, 19 January, 2014 at 08:52 Posted on Planning 0 11

I went dress hopping yesterday and found a dress I love... I think it could be the one.. my only concern is that i never wear strapless and the dress is strapless and does the colour suit me?!? im so pale.. I just wondered if i could have an opinion.. the photo is s**t as we weren't allowed to take photos soo my mum had to sneak one so the quality is rubbish.. and obviously the dress would need altering and fitting (especially around the top) (i dont know if i just want reassurance!?)

Sorry if the photo has come out massive!

thanks!

I'm pale too and although I plan on going on a couple of sun beds before hand to get a healthy glow I'll still be pale ! I actually think there is something quite beautiful about pale in white - think Snow White / Cinderella !

as for strapless it suits you lovely and of course once it's all fitted to you , you will feel much more secure xxx

Thank you!! that puts my mind at rest!! the dress is on sale and its that one i would purchase so feeling slightly stresses over the thought of it being sold before i have a chance to 100% pick..

    the dress is:

Im planning when having it altered to have it taken in slightly round the hips to give a slightly more fishtail effect ( a mix between a line and fishtail)

^^^ what they said. It's a great colour on you and the sweetheart neckline looks great against your shoulder line. Lovely!

I'm not one for normally commenting on Dress threads but I have to say that it is a stunning dress and you will look great in it.

    Here's what I have seen.
I don't think that anyone is used to a strapless dress as its not the every day kind of wear. Every time I see one of these get laced up I hear the same thing from the bride "tighter - tighter a bit more" Its just that people are not used to wearing a dress like that and sometimes worry that they are not going to be secure enough.
But I have never seen a strapless dress that hasn't done its job all day, a few bridesmaids dresses --er --yes because they generally are not built with the same amount of support which can then lead to her constantly grabbing the dress armpits and oyking up.
I know its not practical to do but sometimes I think it would be a good idea wear your dress around the house just to learn that you can feel secure in it, as it usually takes up until the time of the reception drinks before the bride is fully convinced that all will be safe after all.
