Help!

b2b1, 19 July, 2014 at 20:48 Posted on Planning 0 7

Today I found 3 dresses, 3 of which I cannot decide between! They are all very different and I have no idea which one I want. One is very plain, taffeta gown with a little detail, the other is bling and ballgown and the other is a tea length dress with mesh top!

I know you can't decide on my dress for me, but any advice from anyone who had a similar problem? I am getting to the point where I couldnt find any nice ones and now I have had 3 on I love - Mind you out of the three, none of them have jumped out and said 'pick me pick me!!'. I don't want to try anymore on as I am getting more and more confused by it all!

Thank you!!

I tried my dress on about 3 times before deciding, could you go back in a week or 2 and try the same 3 on and see how you feel? If you still don't feel any of the 3 is 'the one' could you give it another couple weeks and look again?

Yes I will take the weekend to think about it, all 3 are lovely on me, but as I said very different. Do you take into consideration the venue etc when picking or do you just pick the dress you love? Its a civil ceremony and a country club for reception so not a grand castle or anything which makes me worried that the bling dress will be too much (but I still like it loads!)

New to this entirely, so you will have to explain what a flash is Smiley smile soz!!

I personally just chose the dress I liked I didn't think about the venue. One dress shop I went to was adamant I couldn't pick a dress until I had picked a theme and was reluctant to help, I didn't go back there again!

When is your wedding? I think that the stress about not liking any dresses and are the confusion now are probably related. If you have plenty of time I would suggest taking a few weeks' break from looking at dresses altogether, then go and see them again. It's amazing what a few weeks and a fresh perspective can do Smiley winking

I took in to account where I was getting married which was also civil and didn't want anything ott. However had I of wanted a princess style dress then I would have gone for this regardless of the location Smiley winking bizarrely the weight of the dress was really important to me as I had the experience of being bridesmaid for a friend who had the most beautiful lace beaded dress that weighed a ton! She was so uncomfortable dragging it around and felt really sick after dinner. She ended up going to bed at 12am! I blamed the dress!! I went for a really light dress with no train so no extra weight to trail around!! It was also the one the felt most 'me' when I had it on.

    Good luck xx

You have plenty of time then so take a while to think about the overall look/feel that you want for the day, what accessories you would want, what bridesmaid dresses would go, what suits would fit with the dresses and try and imagine yourself walking around your venue. Which one is more you or more the vibe you want to go for. But don't stress too much, you're in a good position of have too much choice! Win win!
