Help - can't identify flowers!

Trish2014, 13 January, 2014 at 20:52 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi all, we're getting married in June this year and I'm starting to think I'd better get around to organising my flowers! (Thank you to the other flower threads for giving me a push!) I'm planning on a bouquet something like the one below but am struggling to identify the flowers and foliage so don't have a clue whether or not they'll be available. I think the pink ones are peonies or ranunculus, I think there are some white roses in there too but that's about where my knowledge ends! Can anyone shed any light please?

I'm no florist but white flowers mostly in bud are lizianthas (not sure of spelling) and the blue/green leaves are a type of eucalyptus. You're right about the pink ones being peonies and the orangier ones look like either dahlias or chrysanthemums. Although I'm no expert

I think the large peachy coloured ones are dahlias and the pink roses are David Austin roses...

The others are correct although there are no ranunculas in there.

the Pink ones are David Austin Roses, possibly the variety Miranda the grey foliage with berries is a Eucalyptus, the peach ones are a cactus dahlia, the big white ones are roses and more dahlias cream and the more budded green ones Lizzianthus. June is a bit early for Dahlias but there would be peonies at that time.

This looks to me like it was an autumn bouquet when it was too late for peonies and ranunculas.

Hope that helps, take the photo to your florist and they can advise you.
