Help finding a band in Hertfordshire!

sc2347, 25 November, 2011 at 20:51 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hiya,

Can anyone help me with recommendations for a band to play at our wedding reception? We are getting married next May in Ware and are looking for a band to play rock/pop music (and ideally if at all possible some irish music too?)

All the bands we've found are either already booked up or cost over £1500 (which is out of our budget!) Aarrgh!!

Thanks alot!!

Depending on what type of band you are looking for ... let me know the style of music you are looking for and ill have a look through and see who we have played with.

Or you can have a look at our band

We've booked Cupids Wish, but just the duo as that came in much cheaper. Don't think they do Irish music, but definitely rock and pop. They're based in Newmarket so it would be doable. If you google them, you'll find their website.

    Hi sc2347

Not sure if you've considered a singer rather than a band? I regularly work in Hertfordshire area and evening singer / DJ package costs £700 - £800, providing you with a full evening's entertainment. My web site link is below, let me know if you want any more info.

    Thanks

    James

    Hi!

I've worked with Adam Chandler, who did a good job of getting the crowd going, and I really enjoyed working with him, and he ran though our sound system to help reduce space.

    https://www.adamchandler.co.uk/

He can provide a 2-piece (or complete band), so providing more of a live sound than simply a solo artist.

As you're probably finding, getting a quality 4 or 5 piece band is going to be expensive.

What ever you do, you will need some managed entertainment between the bands sets. Playing a CD generally won't work. I've also been to a Wedding (as a guest) where the band really wasn't paying attention to the occasion and had the wrong CD for the 1st dance, and then selected the wrong track.

If you do need to go budget, make sure they are still focused on your special day.

    I hope this helps,

    Jason

We had "The Bears" and they were fantastic...everyone was dancing, young and old, and we had a few musicians as guests who paid them compliments too.

    http://www.thebears.uk.com/

    *Based in Hertfordshire.

*They sound exactly like their online demos.

*Regular gigs in central London - we saw them play on a Thursday night and all the city slickers were dancing away.

    *Reasonably priced.

*Martin the lead guitarist is fab with comms.

    *Wedding Awards finalists / shortlisted.

Any questions, give me a shout. Good luck with your search x
