Help Hair and Accessory suggestions please

drifter, 16 June, 2010 at 14:14 Posted on Planning 0 17

So I don't have a photo of my dress yet but it will be similar to the photos below slightly smaller skirt no sash or corsage the bodice is a wee bit longer andlace detalin will fall a little bit onto the skirt so there is't such a strong divide.

sorry for the big pics I stumble on this on the naomi Neoh site and it's the cloest thing I have seen to my dress.

So my question is what do I wear with this dress?

my wedding is 1st Oct in a church followed by a barn reception

I have the offer of hiring an antique lace veil which would match the lace on my dress (or near enough) from lady doing the dress but what about jewellery or some thing to keep me warm

I am torn between flowers in my hair or some sort of side tiara, and Im currently thinking no necklace as the neckline of the dress is alreaddy detailed.

suggestions and opinions please

I'd go with something simple - hair accessories from Flo & Percy or Glitzy Secrets would look lovely. A simple veil with no detail on would also look nice as it would be a shame to detract from the detail on the dress as it's lovely!

A single flower would also look lovely - might want to go for silk as I've heard real ones can wilt vay quickly? Smiley smile

That's a lovely dress so I'm sure your own one will be even nicer.

I'd keep any necklace quite simple and classic and I think pearls would be lovely as it will be in keeping with the vintage/lace look of the dress. Here are a few suggestions from my website

Or an illusion style which would give a touch of detail whilst remaining really delicate. Just made this for Sparkles on here but the designs aren't on the website yet but can be viewed in this link https://www.photobox.co.uk/album/398093679. If you would like any prices just let me know.

A few hair accessory ideas but it would be good to know how you are having your hair styled.

    http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=tiaras&image=Aztec_pearl_diamonte.jpg

Double bands are really popular because they aren't as big or detailed as a tiara

    http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=tiaras&image=doubleband_pearl_diamonte.jpg

This is one of my customers wearing the double band

I'd be delighted to help with any accessories and if you want to discuss it more feel free to drop me an email - ******@**************.**.**. You can also borrow any samples I have so you don't need to buy without trying on.

I mostly do bespoke work so if nothing on my website appeals I can design something for you taking into account your dress, hairstyle and overall look you want to achieve on the day.

    Hope that helps

    Hello

I love your dress! Stunning! I personally wouldn't wear a necklave, but then I'm not a big necklace person! With regards to hair accessories, I've got a design on my Happy Clients page which is a vintage lace inspired side tiara. https://www.katievaledesigns.com/HappyClients.html

It's the design for Harriet. but I can't get it to show here!! Everythign I do is hand made to order so if you require any further assistance please let me know, I can design something specifically for you too.

    Thanks

    Katie

    PG and Katievale

you have some lovely things on your sites have given me food for thought

    Vbeck and Spangles

I agree something simply and I think if I go for any sparkles they will be in my hair. Cant decide hair up or down what do people think of these styles to go with the dress

I think a soft, not too structured updo like the last two pics would look gorgeous. Not a fan of sleeked back do's that make you look like you've stuck a pineapple on your bonce.

Last two are my faves - would look lovely.

If you are going to have your hair up then I think that one of my back drop necklaces would look lovely Smiley smile

heres one I do in freshwater pearls & crystals

personally I would NOT go for a statement bracelet, I think it would detract from the vintage style of your dress, if you were to wear a bracelet I would keep it delicate & simple

    Gorgeous dress by the way!!

let me know if I can help at all

I really like the last hair style and have a comb which would go beautifully, the tapered flower comb https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/jewelled_hair_combs.htm I also have a very popular headband side tiara Floral trellis https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/headbands_diamante_bead.htm

Wow gorgeous dress! agree with spangles about the hair, soft updo like last two pics. i like the brunette with the flower in her hair - i think this would look good with your dress.

i say no necklace, some drop earrings (not too dramatic, kinda medium length). and i like the cuff but not sure if you need something so heavy? maybe a bit more than a row of pearls, but slightly less than the big cuff?

    Hi,

Gorgeous dress. I heart lace! Three words IMO, Pearls. Pearls. Pearls!

It’s all down to personal preference really. I don’t think your dress is too detailed so as not to have a necklace; I think the key is just to keep it simple around the neckline and perhaps have more of a statement piece in your hair or a bracelet.

    My personal choices would be:

Nouveau haircomb or this could be put on a hair band so it forms a side tiara with a simple pearl necklace such as one of these with either a matching simple pearl bracelet or the Monroe double stranded bracelet if you wanted more of a statement.

If you want sparkles as well as pearls, the Grace range of jewellery with the Glamour Puss band would look lovely.

Alternatively, a pendant such as Pearl Drop would look lovely with this dress (depending on how high the neckline is on you) and a matching bracelet can be made or perhaps a double stranded one like Monroe with the crystal rondells added in.

The Natalie band would alos look lovely with your dress with a simple freshwater pearl necklace

Another alternative for your hair if you have a low bun is Winter Wonderland hair pins which are really versatile as they are separate pins so can be placed where they are needed. They are also a very budget friendly way to really give the wow factor to a hair style.

All prices and many more ideas etc are on the website www.louloubelle.co.uk but please do drop me an email if you’d like any more information or if I can help at all - ****@***********.**.** - I'd love to help. I offer a free bespoke service too.

Really beautiful dress! I love the bodice detailing and the lovely neckline.

You've already had loads of help from the lovely ladies on here. If you need any further inspiration take a little look at my website below. I am a hitched registered supplier.

I think you possibly could wear a necklace but I would probably keep it to a simple string of pearls, possibly with a detailed clasp at the back if you wear your hair up. See my design below, which is available in white/ivory/cream swarovski pearls as below (alternative colours also available!) - or freshwater pearls.

With your jewellery I would probably go for pearls or pearls and crystal in a vintage style design. I have a few vintage designs on my website, available in various colours including white/cream. What colour is your dress?

Anyway, here's just a few suggestions for you!! Most of the designs above have matching bracelets/earrings/necklaces and earrings can usually be made with ear posts or hooks.

I think a veil would look lovely but I don't think you need one in my opinion. I don't think you'll necessarily need anything to keep you warm at the beginning of October, you'll probably be fine! You'll be so caught up in the moment that you probably won't feel the cold. I didn't when I went outside for my wedding photos in December! Brrrr!

I hope this helps, just shout if you have any queries. My email address is ****@*********************.*** or feel free to contact me on here.

Here's a compromise perhaps. This vintage inspired brooch is due to be put on a hairband with pearls and rhinestone (the photo is merely the pearls laid down as a mock up).

If you aren't too sure about a band or a tiara then how about a hairvine. I don't have access to my hairvine images right now but I can certainly post them later or email you some suggestions.

All of the hairstyles you like would work very well with a hairvine as they are wrapped around the hairstyle and pinned in place. Even with this style the vine can be woven into the sections that are pleated.
