Is there a special reason why your wedding is in July? A lot of venues do discounts for "out of season" weddings, especially if you opt for a weekday or Sunday as well. We're saving well over a grand on our venue by going for a Thursday in April. If you can be more flexible about the date/time of year, you might find the venue costs drop massively.

We're getting married at Shustoke Farm Barns. It has expensive price tags in the summer and weekends and as we wanted to get married in the summer we opted for a Thursday wedding in August 2015. It was our dream venue but we didn't fancy paying the Saturday price tag. We saved £2000 by bringing our day two days forward! We've paid the venue hire now so can't remember exactly what it was but think it was around £2600. That doesn't include food (our food & drinks bill is pretty hefty) but that will be dependant on how many guests you are having.

Thank-you all for your replys. The budget ideally is **** with food ? I know it sound cheap but it's all I can physically afford to spend on a venue looking like it will be tbe local chippy at this rate ? I can't have a weekday day wedding to many people wouldn't be able to come the reason I wanted it to be July was because it's when my parents got married and I lost my dad 12 months ago maybe a dilly reason I'm not a winter person either I prefare the sun and flowers blooming then bare black trees and gloomy ? thanks again lovely ladies x

Hi - we really wanted a barn wedding venue too but couldnt really afford it our budget is the same as yours, in the end we booked at avoncroft museum where you have the ceremony and reception in a beautiful barn. Have a look on google, venue hire is under £2000 and you can pick from a selection of caterers Smiley smile
