Help, I need some advice!

Pollyjean35, 11 January, 2011 at 19:00 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 4

Im getting married on 9th April and my dress fitting is in 6 weeks. I had planned to hammer the gym 4 times a week but have just discovered I have a torn cartilage! So now I can only rely on dieting, I have just joined weight watchers and hope to get 9 pounds off before the wedding and at least 6 pounds in the 6 weeks leading up to my dress fitting.

Am I being unrealistic here and should I consider something a little more drastic like the atkins diet etc?

6 Weeks isn't long, have you heard of the 24 day challenge from advocare? I'm a personal trainer and I have tried the program myself as well as prescribed it to my clients. I have lost 12 lbs about 3% body fat, and I have had some clients lose as much as 20 lbs on it. The best part is that you don't feel like you are being heavily deprived after the first few days (the first day is the hardest). Email me if you have any questions about it.

Yes you are being realistic. I've found Slimming world is better than WW as I was always hungry on it.

I would say no against dramatic diets like Atkins and Cambridge. I'm totally against them.

The best way is just to alter your eating habits now. Try not to eat after 7 or at least no carbs. Limit your bread to 2 slices a day, milk or cheese not both, plenty of fruit and veg. If you like flavoured drinks other than water, go for low sugar, or no added sugar cordial. Try to make lots of meals up with enough for lunch the following day, i.e a big pasta bake.

I could go on but i'll stop here.

Def say no to the atkins diet! I done it for around 4 months a good few years back and although the weight loss is great you end up feeling fat and greasy cos thats all you seem to eat. And I can honestly say I have never craved freshly baked white bread in all my life like I did when I was doing that! Personally I can lose 1lb a week just cutting my portions down and switching my snacks to cereal bars or dry crackers

    Hi,
Here is a sample daily meal plan that I eat to get you started:

    Meal One
Protein shake with 1% milk (I like whey protein drinks such as IsoPro)
    Meal Two
½ an apple and cottage cheese or yogurt.
    Meal Three
Piece of chicken (no skin) and a small salad.
    Meal Four
Cheese and the balance of the apple.
    Meal Five
Piece of lean meat, rice or potatoes, vegetables.
    Meal Six
Low fat chocolate pudding mixed with protein powder

    extra-marital affairs

    Thanks
