Help Me Choose!

We are celebrating our 1st Anniversary in January. Becasuse its our first anniversary, and we have had a pretty s**t few months, we want to get away for the night and am keen to get something booked so we can look forward to it. I have narrowed it down to the 2 below, basically due to location, whats included and recommendations. I also thought, by the time we have been for a nice meal and stuff we may aswell pay a bit extra to stay somewhere and not have to worry about taxis and stuff. There is a total of £56 different between the 2, so to us quite a big difference.... BUT dont mind paying to get the perfect day/night away.

Hallmark Manchester Hotel

1 night
3 course Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
1 x 30min treatment in Spa
bottle of wine in room
Chocolate Dipped bits in room (i assume strawberries etc)

The Spa is literally a pool, Sauna/Steam Room and Jacquzzi

£71pp

Lion Quays Hotel and Spa

1 night
3 course Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
1 x 30min treatment in the Spa
Lunch is included on day of Spa

£99pp

I have been to this Spa and its pretty amazing, it is what you would say is a proper spa with treatment room, relaxation room, Snow room etc, plus you get the robes, slippers and whatnot.

Help! Smiley smile

Go for the one you really want, forget the cost, like you say you have had a crappy time of it lately and you deserve it. ?

    This!

Although you do say the second is a 'proper spa' so I think I would go for that, plus lunch is included which makes it easier as you don't have to worry about it!

Would be nice to get chocolate-dipped stuff though... although if you really wanted some, maybe you could take them with you.

Okay I must be going mad/blind, because I thought the prices were the other way round...

£56 difference is a fair amount BUT you'd be spending some of that on lunch, so maybe not such a big difference?

I would go for number 2 and take a bottle of fizz, some strawberries and chocolate with me! Especially if you have been before and know for sure it is good!

It depends on how important the spa is to you. If it's not that important then I'd go for the other one as you pay less for more. If you really like the spa idea then I'd go for that one.

They both sound lovely. If you really cna't decide, then think about what H would like, would he be interested in the spa stuff, or would he just be happy with a swim and sauna? like someone else said though, you'd be paying for lunch out of the difference anyway.

    Thanks everyone

I think we will probably go for the second one. As i would love the relaxing day, as would OH, we both need it! And plus, like some of you have said, we will probably use the difference on lunch, and also petrol wise the 2nd one is closer.
