help me find.....

MrsB88, 7 January, 2015 at 11:01 Posted on Planning 0 5

Tags for my favours! So we are having small jars with 5 sugared almonds in. I love the meaning and tradition behind the 5 almonds so I'm really keen to share this with our guests. So I want a small tag with the poem ' five sugared almonds for each guest to eat to remind us that life is both bitter and sweet. Five wishes for the new husband and wife; health, wealth, happiness, children and long life!'

Now I've looked on ebay and etsy and can only find international sellers!! Don't want to pay a fortune in postage and then be charged for it coming from overseas. I found one uk seller on ebay but her tags measure way too big for the jars I am using (3x3cms). Any suggestions??

That is a long poem for a tiny tag! We are using 4x4cm boxes but our favour tags only have 'thankyou for sharing our special day' on one side and our names and wedding date on the other. Have you considered making them yourself? My mum is doing mine.

I'm not sure you will get all that on a tiny tag!! Could you perhaps put something on each table - a plaque or scroll perhaps? Or, as ID suggests make them yourself. You can buy basic tags in hobby craft or the range and then just print to fit.

I agreed with Inked Doll, these ones are from an international seller so no good for you, but measure 4.6 x 6.9cm each and the text still seems rather on the small side!

I think even if you DIYed them they might look too squashed? Have you considered doing a sign for each table explaining the meaning rather than individual tags? That might be easier?

Or, could you make the jars slightly bigger so a bigger tag would be more in proportion? Or did you already buy them?

I thought about doing almonds at one bit as OH's dad loves them - he is now diabetic and can't have them so I'm not doing them, but when they were on my mind, I was going to do them in tulle and in a bowl on each table with a sign to say please take a favour and the little poem that explains the history behind them. I do think this is perhaps your best option if you want to inlcude the poem, which I do really like btw Smiley smile x
