Help me spend £1000?

10 September, 2014 at 19:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

I found out today that my wonderful Gran left me a thousand pounds. How lovely? I didnt expect anything.

So how do I spend it? I thought a nice ring to remind me of her and then my brain has stalled.

Aahhh I would definitely go with a piece of jewellery and a ring sounds lovely. I'd be tempted to get a ring and then maybe some premium bonds?

    Bless her.

Do you wear jewellery? Would something that gives you memories work better (I'm thibkingba holiday?) or perhaps something round the house so that everytime you see it you think of her?

I think a piece of jewellery would be perfect, and a ring is a lovely idea x

Like the idea of a piece of jewellery.

I'd spend the rest as a family. Maybe a small holiday where you can go all out or days out that the kids have wanted to do but is usually too expensive

Aww, how lovely. I would definitely say a nice piece of jewellery is a lovwly way to remember her. I would put some into that and some into a nice trip so you have lovely memories of that too

As others have said, a ring is a lovely idea. I'd probably spend it on a holiday. Or a Vuitton handbag...

With my money so far I've had the car fixed ? and got myself a necklace from the Swarovski shop with a green gem in it as she was my green Nanny.

With the rest I'm going to get my C clas driving licence and start applying for jobs to be paramedic.

K that is so lovely of her.

Jewellery is a nice idea if you would wear it. I know I wouldn't as I only wear my WR and ER, so personally I would prob put that money towards a special trip or experience type day that I could never forget.

My grandad gave me £1,000 (although not in his will - he is still alive and wanted to give us the money so he could see us enjoy it) and I spent it going travelling because that was how I most enjoyed using it!

I think anything that would remind you of your Gran or anything at all that you will enjoy as the memories will always remind you of her x

My instinct is jewellery or a holiday? That way you will have something to remember her by

Edinburgh with the family sounds like a very fitting way to spend it.

I would go with jewellery too. I bought a ring with money I received when my dad died, it was from Links of London and I loved it when I saw it and then the lady in the shop told me the range was called Watch Over Me so that pretty much convinced me it was the right thing to buy.

I hope the funeral is as nice as these things can ever be and you are all able to celebrate your Gran's life and all your memories x
