HELP: Muff bouquets

hummingbird, 6 December, 2011 at 21:19 Posted on Planning 0 25

Hi,

I have been looking at muff bouquets, i am getting married next december and i really like the idea of them. Has anyone seen them being used or had one?

My main concern is what would i carry going down the aisle, or do Brides wear them on the way down??

I confess I saw the word 'muff' and also wondered how that could possibly have any connection to a bouquet....

Wow! some of them are quite elaborate with lots of trailing greenery, and I'm afraid I'm not keen on those, but the simple ones are very pretty - like this one:

This would look great in any colour of flowers I think - very unusual too - I don't think I've ever seen them before you mentioned them!

I too thought this was a something rude, how our minds work lol, its very nice but not sure i would want to carry it all day and it would hide the ring! i also wonder how many jokes the best man could come up with for the speeches ? bearing in mind ours has a filthy sense of humour and i'm already dreading it x

I had a plain white one as a BM, the bride had a bouquet of beautiful red roses and white spray. It gave me the perfect opportunity to make jokes about stroking my muff in the church, even the vicar had a little chuckle about it.

Reminded me of a christmas card we got last year...had a a pic of a man and a woman on the front....the woman was carrying a muff....but the caption read

Shaun was excited when fiona revealed that his christmas present was safely tucked away in her muff!

I also have to admit i thought this was gonna be a rude thread.....i was thinking....why would someone what a bunch of flowers on their muff....

We are getting married this month, on 23rd, and my girls are having muff corsages, not muff bouquets:

But yes, my florist says that with a muff bouquet you would carry it down the aisle like a proper muff (see pics above but imagine the muff being made of flowers!

I think that looks lovely, perfect for a freezing cold winter wedding. You could keep a little bottle of brandy in it lol

I saw one of these in a magazine at the beginning of the year. It looked lovely!

The muff was made entirely out of flowers, rather than just a muff with flowers stuck on like the one above.

The flowers were quite small dainty ones, sort of looked like daisies (?) I don't know flowers very well!

I'd say have one tho, it looked beautiful!!

    Hi there, hummingbird!

I know you were talking about those all-flower muff bouquets but I initially misread your post and thought you were asking about how would you carry a muff and a bouquet LOL!

Thanks - unfortunately I am not selling as I plan to let the girls have their shrugs and muffs even though I paid for them as they paid for their own dresses and I feel guilty. However, I got them from a lovely online shop called Bridal Bits 'n' Bobs and the lady (Annette) is just wonderful - swapped them for me and made new shrugs when the sizes I ordered turned out to be too big, and she kept me informed at all times when she made them, when she posted them etc! Muffs start at £8 but they are amazing good quality, not to mention also the capes / shrugs and the lovely satin they are lined with and the posh labels!

    15 days today eeeeeek!

H2B just walked in and I said a B2B was wanting a muff bouquet.

He screwed up his face and said:

'Why on earth would she want to do that? That won't be very hygienic!'

    ?

The muff bouquets are something really different and stunning and yes you would also carry it back down the isle too. you could have one made of all flowers but then it wouldnt be as warm and having a bouquet entwind with the muff.

I am walking down the aisle with mine, and so are the girls in keeping with out Winter Woodland meets Narnia theme. Instead of taking off my veil, my H2B will lower down my fur-trimmed hood on my satin cape...
