Help needed please!!

Hi all

I got engaged last Tuesday (super excited still!!) but i have absolutely no idea where to start, its all a mine field!!

I have started looking at venues but not only do they all cost a fortune, they all include things i dont really want from them, like table menus, place cards, seating plan, chair covers, linen - as i have these things sourced myself. Does anyone know how i should search for venues more suitable, i basically just need a venue, catering and wedding co-ordinator?

Any help gratefully appreciated as its all a bit scary!

There is no rule saying you have to take these things and you just tell the venue that at a suitable time........ you have sourced your own, great. (you did that super fast!!) oh and congrats.

so visit all the venues you like and just tell them you will provide your own trimmings.

My sister in law owns her own chair cover/wedding linen etc. business so i have it all on hand which is great.

I found that the hotels tended to offer everything you mentioned and then barns and country houses tended to let you get it all together yourself. But I think most places are pretty flexiable and will ammend prices if you dont use all there bits.

Congratulations! When are you planning on getting married?

As others have said- a good venue should be flexible. For example, my package included a cake and table decorations but I don't need them - so the venue are refunding the amount they would have spent on these off of the package price. Best to phone/visit and see what they can do.
