Help needed - unusual jewellery request

littleredhead, 22 October, 2009 at 21:42 Posted on Planning 0 4

Righty. Where do I start?!

We're having a medieval themed wedding in November next year. To give you an idea of the 'touches' of the day:

This is my dress:

https://webshots.com/weekly

And I'll be wearing this circlet:

http://www.medievalbridalfashions.com/elven-whisper.htm

The flowers are all based around deep greens - lots of foliage and ivy - with a few small white roses. Tables are two long tables for a medieval banquet, goblets etc. and will be decorated with ivy strands around the edges and ivy leaves scattered across ivy linen. Table decorations are going to be something like this (still work in progress though!):

Sooo...enough of the flash! 😉

What I'm looking for is either a hair vine like this:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32167771&ref=sr_gallery_4&&ga_search_query=ivy+hair+vine&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

but in gold (and not quite so expensive!)

or

some hair pins that are primarily gold metalwork with green or gold ivy leaves on the end as I'm having my hair half up and half down (no veil) and want something different in it from the back to just hidden pins. I currently have long red hair (hence the user name!) I want to make a bit more of a feature of it and think ivy hair pins would be a nice touch to tie in with the flowers and table decs.

Any help would be most most appreciated as my fingers are beginning to wear out now with all the googling I've done! Alternatively, if anyone has any bright ideas to how I can make some hair pins on the cheap, that would be even better...

(fingers crossed those links all work now!)

    Hello

I can def help you out; please feel free to view my website: www.katievaledesigns.com everything I do is hand made to order & therefore I can create anythign to suit your medieval theme. Feel free to email me at ****@****************.*** if you require any further information or would like some ideas drawn up for you.

The top bride in my Happy Client's page has a selection of pins running down the side of her hair too - but they are in one line rather than sporadically spaced out. Just thought I'd mention it.......

    Thanks

    Katie

    Hi there,

I'm at work so can't view your pictures (boo to the internet filters). Most of my work is bespoke so I can create something different to what is shown on my website.

I've got pictures of hair vines I can email you which aren't expensive (under £30).

My website is www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk and email ******@**************.**.**.

Have a nosey on my website and feel free to ask anything and I'll help where I can.

    Thanks

    Lynsey

    Hi

My Bridesmaid has her own company doing all things for wedding hair and accessories and does hair vines.

    Try www.laurel-lime.co.uk

She can make anything to your spec too if you fancied mixing and matching or had your own ideas.
