Help please

shoosh, 8 January, 2012 at 17:38 Posted on Planning 0 5

HI everyone, sorry I am asking for help, when I don't really come on here very often but I could really do with some help...

My matron on honour has had a really tough year and is very ill at the moment. I have organised some of my hen do hoping that she would be well enough to take over some time soon but she has told me that she doesn't feel that she can do it now due to her situation. (which I understand). My two other bridesmaids are useless and are showing no interest in things at the moment. so I am having to organise everything myself.

Sooooooooooooooo, I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas for me - so far I have booked a roller disco/dancing lesson for 90 mins in Manchester but I have no idea what else I could do or where is nice in manchester to go drinking / dancing... can anyone help me or does anyone have any better ideas?

Thanks in advance xx

It depends where your roller disco is? the printworks has a range of bars/clubs if you want a 'young, fun, party night' if you want something a bit more 'formal/classy etc' then i would go for somewhere like 'room' ( http://www.roomrestaurants.com/ ) you won't really find much dancing going on somewhere like this (pretty much sit and drink cocktails) and it's a bit pricey...if you want something in the middle where you can sit and sip cocktails or get up for a dance i'd go to deansgate locks, it's got a vodka revolution, missoula, sugar buddha, baa bar etc and they are all attached so you can pretty much go from one to another depending on what you have planned?

maybe go for some shots in baa bar to start with then sugar buddha to start the drinking off then onto revs or missoula for a bit more of a party atmosphere? you can book booths at revolution and missoula i think? revolution also do a cocktail masterclass so maybe look into that? https://www.revolution-bars.co.uk/masterclasses/cocktail-masterclass

    Good Luck! Smiley smile x

Cloud 23 is fantastic for afternoon tea, or cocktails in the evening. It has fab views of the city at night. You have to book a guest list as its really popular. You can google it and email them.

The birdcage is where lots of hen parties go, it's like a cabaret drag show. It's not my bag, so I've never been, but loads of people love it. You can book tables I think too so makes planning easy.

If you want cheesey fun, wearing plastic tiaras etc then I would say head to either the printworks (quite chavvy) or to the gay village, which I am doing myself. If its more classy then cloud 23 is great but I have to say their drinks would be out of my hens price range, if you wanted to go for one to check out the view before getting down to serious drinking elsewhere then pre-book. On main deansgate the living room does great cocktails, more reasonably priced, or head to the locks as has already been suggested for some more stlyish bars. Depends on your style really, if you're more indie/alternative then head down oxford road. There's a few nice bars on portland street, which is around the corner from chinatown and the village.

    Hi,

I had a friend who organised a hen do in Manchester. To keep orices down they hired an apartment in 'The Place' and had a meal there one night before going out for drinks, and during the day they did a pole dancing class.

I suppose it depends on whether you want to do a big night out drinking, or other fun or different things, and on your budget.

Do you not have another non BM friend that might be able to help you out? I'm shockd thatyour other BMs haven't even tried to step up and help a bit.

Even of your chief BM can't organise, she may have had ideas or be able to discuss ideas with you?

    DM x
