Help - so depressed at weight loss

hez80, 7 September, 2010 at 09:56 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 7

Im just wondering if there is anyone feeling the same way as me just now!

i've been doing scottish slimmers for 5 months and i've lost 26lbs but I've got stuck, I lost 4.5lb 2 weeks ago, put on 1lb last week and 0.5lb last night. I've not had an alcoholic drink, take away or really anything exciting for the past month and its getting me down.

I go to the gym 3 nights a week and cycle 5miles and walk for 3 bascially all within an hour and a half, i really push myself and I also walk a 4.5 mile on a sunday morning (as no hangover lol). Im so depressed and feel like quitting Smiley sad

Im gettin married in May and have arranged to go dress shopping at the end of this month, but the way Im feeling just now I can see it far enough. The class manager now thinks Im not eating enought as Im allowed 50 checks but only eating between 36-42.

Is there anyone else out there had this problem am I doing the damage by not eating enough? HELP HELP HELP HELP. I also have poly cystic overies as well which makes it harder to shift the weight in the first place. They hospital said once you loose weight the pcos will get better but just now it seems to me its only getting worse Smiley sad

xxxxx

    Hi,

I'll be honest, I have not seen the Scottish Slimmers diet plan before, so I'm not entirely familiar with the ins and outs. However it seems from what i can gauge on the website that you are allowed a certain number of checks per day, similar to weight watchers points etc. This basically works to restrict calorific intake while saving you the job of figuring out the calorific values of foods you eat - a nice touch.

It seems like you are trying very hard, which is great, but you will suffer under nourishment if you do not eat enough food. A lot of overweight people are actually grossly undernourished because the sugary, trans-fat laden foods they eat, whilst containing massive amounts of energy have very little of anything your body can use productively. This means if you are on a calorie restricted diet, but eating things that makes people overweight such as pizza (http://www.scottishslimmers.com/index.php?autocom=articles&action=read&id=115&cat_id=9) you will be hugely under nourished, which will put your body into fat survival storage mode and stall weight loss efforts. You can read more on this in my thread in this forum.

PCOS is strongly related to insulin resistance, which is now believed to be the biggest cause of weight gain and obesity (not dietary fat or calorie intake). The correct course of action for an individual with such a condition is to follow a low carbohydrate moderate to high protein and fat style diet to increase insulin sensitivity. I will be posting about the ins and outs of insulin in my thread.

Exercising is a great way to aid your weight loss and also tone the body and again it seems like the effort on your part is great, maybe a change of direction will produce better results? Studies have shown that your body adapts to a cardio training regime in 6 weeks and it then produces diminished, if any, results. Possibly trying some resistance (weight) training or interval sessions will produce better results. If you would like further information on these ways of training and why they may be more effective I am more than happy to provide it.

You still have plenty of time until May to meet your goals, keep a positive attitude and you will achieve what you desire.

I dont know much about Scottish slimmers, but you seem to be doing more than enough exercise to lose weight.

Remember that you still need to eat enough to be healthy, and don't get depressed at losing weight slowly.

    good luck !

Hez80, I understand that you are feeling miserable, but think you are missing the point - you have lost 26 pounds! Thats fantastic! Also with all the exercise you are doing you are prob putting on muscle weight as it weighs more than fat. I find that keeping a track of my important measurements eg waist, hips etc helps you see how much you have lost much more accurately than the scales. Cheer up and keep up the good work, it will be worth it! : )

Its funny that you should liken yourself to Cinderella, because I used to think that I was Cinderella before the ball and that one day some magical fairy godmother would instantly transform my bulging hips, big belly and numerous rolls around my body, into a slimmer and curvyier and more sexier me. Then you take one look in the mirror and come straight back down to earth and realise its never going to happen

However on the other hand, there is a way to get the body you want and lose weight in an instant. Approximately 3 months ago I was introduced into this life changing "fairy godmother", in the shape of a garment. Have you heard of Ardyss and their flagship product called 'body reshaper'. It is a unique body shaping garment which is "guaranteed to naturally get rid of love handles, give you the appearance of flat abs and ultimately transforms the body into an hourglass figure, in 10 minutes".

This is what Ardyss claims and this is what the Body Magic garment actually does. For real, I cant stop looking at myself in the mirror whenever I get a chance, its terrific. For the first time in 5 years I now have a waist and real curvy hips. The rolls which used to be around my mid back section all disappear into a smooth slender appearance and my belly transformed into flat streamlined abs. One thing is for sure, this garment will seriously make you go down a couple dress sizes.

I got all of this and more as soon as I had put on the suit. This all happened in under 15 minutes, no exaggeration.

Plus the best thing about the suit is the special material it is made out of it. The material helps your body to burn accumulated fats by making the body sweat. So you would think that this suit makes you feel very uncomfortable? Far from it, the suit feels like a second skin and its soft material makes it easy to move freely.

The overall aim of this garment is to lose 2-3 dress sizes in minutes and highlight the best parts of a womans body, whilst keeping all the bits you love about your body. There are similar garments to the body magic suit, however none of them give instant results like the body magic. This garment is simply true to its purpose.

You should take a look at it, because I guarantee it will give you better results than the diet coffee you're drinking!

Dont give up. I think your exercise routine is great. Maybe the food u are consuming is negating your exercise efforts. Some so called healthy foods are actually not. You could check out a good diet program that could help you get the desired results.
