    Hi & Welcome!

TBH - it's all about personal taste. How much you want decorated, what kind of flowers, etc.

Table decorations - you can be elaborate or as simple as you wish. I'm going down the simple route and will be have a thin vase with a single gerbera in. Partly due to my venue room being very elaborate and partly due to cost.

Church flowers - most churches have flowers in a ll the time so ask your Church what can be done for you.

If you're venue is a blank canvas type of hall then you can pretty much do what you want to it, of course depending on cost. You could line it with fabric to create a marquee style / tent effect. You could add sparkly lights to the celing canvas. White table cloths always make a room look nice.

Hi and welcome to Hitched! As Geordiebarbie says, most churches have flowers in some form or other. It depends on the minister and the parish as to what system they have. Some provide flowers anyway and are quite happy to use a neutral colour scheme so it doesn't clash with your colour scheme and they just ask for a donation. Others actually charge a set amount (which can be up to £100) If you are marrying on the same day as another Bride, the cost can be split between you to keep the cost down. Most churches will not allow you take the flowers away (even if you've paid £100) they expect them to be left in Church. Normally, removal of flowers can only be done if you have a florist to do the church flowers but this means she will also have to provide the pedestal stands as well rather than use the churches.

For table decoration ideas, a good site to sign up to is Martha Stewart. They have lots of ideas on there for tables. I'm a big believer that less is more when it comes to table arrangements and this can be achieved very easily either with or without flowers. Hope that helps.

What about getting some wedding magazines to flick through for ideas. Do you have a particular colour scheme in mind or style of wedding e.g. country theme, modern, based around certain flowers, autumn theme etc?

For our table centres we just bought bright purpley/pink orchids in white pots from tesco's and had these on the white table cloths. We had a country barn style reception and my bouquet was my favourite flowers - orchids so just tied it in with them.

Maybe also try googling some wedding images for ideas.

    Good luck.
