HELP... What would you do?

pink1908, 26 June, 2011 at 20:42 Posted on Planning 0 5

So final details meeting tomorrow morning and we are still to decide on evening food...

So we have a range of canapes for welcome reception

Then 3 course wedding breakfast which is smoked salmon stater, chicken main, and choc tart (they make it sound posher)

so what to do for evening????

either A) hot sandwiches and chips - things like Yorkshire beef, brie/bacon etc

B) Buffet - things like tempura chicken, mini haddock fish cakes, tomato/mozzarella/basil salad/ mixed salad etc

We have 100 in the day and then evening about 25 extra people, planning on having food about 9ish?

What would you do? What sort of impression do you get from them both?

TIA xxxxx

Starstruck, I don't like Brie or goats cheese either. You're not weird.

Hot sarnies and chips are good as long as the accompanying sauces are on the side not in the sarnie. I don't do mustard/ horseradish but would love a hot roast beef sarnie. IYKIM

We're doing something similar to you, but we're having a mix of hot beef & hot pork sandwiches with chips. i'm going to request that they do the meat plain, and have a selection of sauces next to the food for people to put their own on - i think you limit the enjoyment of your guests if they come with sauce on already, everyone's different in what sauce they like!

In my experience, I seem to find that buffet food usually get left, or the selection never seems to be right.. IMO only though. xx
