help with BM dresses

insomniac03, 17 November, 2010 at 20:39 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi all,

I'm having trouble deciding what sort of dresses I get for my bridesmaids and am in need of inspiration and help. I literally have no idea what length, shape or style so I really am starting from scratch lol!

My dress is being made for me but is going to be a similar shape/style to this one below (but without the dog) and my colours are the same as will be in my invite mock up below. The wedding is going to be quite informal and relaxed so wouldn't want anything too fussy and the venue is a converted stables to anything too glam might look a bit odd.

Can anyone help me get some ideas?!

Hey, my dress is short too. I've been looking at the Dessy dresses, there are tons of styles and colours, the problem I have is that my bridesmaids are very different in shape, personality etc, so I have decided on black, narrowed it down to which ones I like and then will let them have final say so theyre comfortable.

Thanks for the replies guys! Sherrie - I love the third one you posted, where is it from? I also love loads on the Dessy website but I don't think I can afford them Smiley sad

Do you think that shorter dresses are the way to go then? I do, but can't decide whether fitted is better to contrast with mine or a-line would be better so we match. So confused!

It is an Alfred Angelo one, you can play around with the colours as well:
