Help with colour co-ordination

melskully, 16 April, 2008 at 15:18 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi all.

I am getting married the 30th of December this year and the colours I want are a deep emerald green for my brides maid dress and I am hoping to get her a faux fur cream jacket, I want red button holes and and I want red and cream in my bouquet.
now in my head all this sounds lovely but in reality Ive no idea how it will look, also my other half tells me that if I go this way he will wear an emerald green cravat and emerald green waist coat. I feel that this would make him look like a leprechaun or an elf or something and I think he should wear a green cravat and a cream waistcoat. He then says that his best mad should be different to him, but what color mix should he go in?
This is so confusing. has anyone else using similar colors Id love to hear your ideas

I've been to lots of weddings where the groom and best man have all worn exactly the same - so long as the bride can pick out the right one on the day I'd say there's no issue with it?.. (but I would also say a green waistcoat and cravat might be overkill - maybe a light green or cream waistcoat instead?)

    Thanks guys,
Honestly I couldnt believe when he said that to me. does anyone else ever fear whats gonna come out of their partners mouth next, with reference to our wedding I feel like if he had his way we would all look like something out of a panto!! I love him to bits and I really value his opinion but dear me I just dont know where he gets his ideas from LOL.

My OH is planning on wearing something completely different to all of the groomsmen....if i can be different, so can he!

I think he will end up turning up all in black......that would be so normal for him, or alternatively, he will turn up in white, which would be a complete shock!

My h2b will be wearing the same as the rest of the groomsmen, but will have different colour and flower in his buttonhole.
