We are having a smll intimate wedding with only 20 guests, to keep the costs down I was going to do wihtout favours but now my Oh would like to get some cigars to share with the make guests. So that leads me onto my first question - anyone know where i can get these at a good price?

Secondly i will know have to get something for the ladies, was thinking of bottles of miniature champagne but its too expensive, any ideas girls??

My OH suggested we get lipbalm for the ladies, which we have done (thought I better listen to one of his suggestions ? ), it was £1.60 ish per personalised pot - but minimum order was 20 I think. Ladies are much easier to buy for than men in my opinion - candles, chocolate, soaps, handcream, seeds for the garden, wine glass trinket thing.

Loving the cigar thing - we have cigars to give to them men but I never even thought about doing them as favours - my OH bought them back from his travels last year and they were dirt cheap.... So perhaps try to find someone who is going abroad?

I'd have thought cigars were a bit useless to any non-smokers attending?

Just a thought but for anything alcohol-related you might need to check your T&C's from your venue in case they charge corkage. I've came across a couple of places that charge (even for favours!) during my venue-searching. Something that started good value for money could quickly become a large expense if they charge you extra!

I've found that even non-smokers will have a cigar once in a while if its a special occasion.

I think cigars are a great idea. We're thinking about making candles for the ladies, not too expensive and a bit personal.

Thanks ladies lots of good ideas here! As we are having a small wedding we know all the lads really well and all of them enjoy a wee cheekly cigar! Just need to get the ladies sorted now!!!

So why do we bother with favours in the first place? After all, if you're spending out all that money entertaining, feeding and watering your guests all day, why should you give them something else? What's wrong with a lump of wedding cake wrapped in a serviette like it used to be?
