Help with hair.... No idea what to do with it and my hairdresser wasn't overly helpful yesterday either. Flash included.

AmyandRoss, 16 May, 2014 at 11:35 Posted on Planning 0 8

I cannot find anything nice to do with my hair for the big day. All I seem to stumble across online for long hair is half up, half down with curls. It looks lovely (for anyone that is having that) but it's just not for me.

The hairdresser suggested having it up, but there is so much of it, the up do would be huge. I had a trim yesterday, but wondering if I should bite the bullet and cut about 5/6inches off?

Those of you that have long hair, what're you doing with it?

X

I kind of like this....

    My hair is very similar to yours but naturally curly and brown Smiley winking I am afraid I am having waterful plait, so kinda 1/2 up 1/2 down Smiley winking

    (this isnt my hair, just an example of what I mean Smiley winking )

    I had my hair all up for a award function many years ago, it was amazing and I loved it! but it took a very long time and hurt by the end of the evening just by the pure weight. The picture of how you would like your hair is low down on your head so shouldn't hurt at all. Ask a hairdresser to have a go at what you want and see how it feels.

    Don't cut your hair tho, unless you really want to, you dont have to wear it up, you can just leave it long and loose Smiley winking

    You have lovely long hair, what about a side plait? So you still get the effect of long hair but is out of the way a bit if you know what I mean? Perhaps something like this;

    I like that plait idea! I had something similar, we'll I tried (it was a tad wonky) a few weeks ago. I tried to copy something on YouTube. It was supposed to look like the picture you put up haha. I forgot to integrate the hair behind :-(. Alas, I was pleased with my wonky attempt.

    I really like that side plait, but could I wear a veil with it? Would it look silly? As it's to the side and the veil would be straight down my back. X

    How about this - would look beautiful with a veil and I love the flowers running through it. shouldn't be too heavy either and is very different to the classic plait x

    You have gorgeous hair, mine is a similar length and I am struggling with ideas, so following with interest.

    I love the Rapunzel type plait Smiley smile

    I'm following this with interest. I have long hair, not quite as long as yours, with a fringe. I hate having my hair up I feel really self conscious, so an up-do is out of the question really. Will probably just have it loose but either curled or straightened nicely.
