Help with making invites wanted, guillotine

Lornac78, 9 January, 2013 at 12:17 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi all, I'm fairly new here and am hoping to make my own invites for my wedding in October this year. To layer my cards I'm looking for a guillotine to cut card, anyone have any ideas or recommendations?

many thanks

Lorna xx

You can get them from Rymans stationers, I'd say get quite a good one as cheap ones aren't usually big enough and can 'snag' ur paper. I think hobby craft also sell them :-)

    Good luck xx

    Hiya

Guillotines are VERY hit or miss I'm afraid. I NEVER trust any of them and I have about 10 different types ranging from cheap to very expensive lying around in my studio that I don't use. I would recommend a good old ruler and knife for the best results especially if you are wanting to layer your card. Perfect measurements and cuts are key to getting it looking right.

If you have a local print shop, they might let you use their guillotine for free or for like a minimal charge, that's what I've done in the past.

    Hi,

Hobbycraft or any good craft stockist or The Range will have one. Go for a paper cutter rather than an actual chunky guillotiNE.

I got one from the range and I think it was about £15. Its fine for what I'm doing which is only a couple of pieces at a time.
