Help with my shoes - what's your vote? UPDATED*

Gbutterfly, 17 March, 2011 at 11:13 Posted on Planning 0 27

So this is my dress (pictured here in champagne but will be in diamond white), knew what I wanted straight away with that but shoes have been a pain! These are a few that I like so what's your favourite, help!

All the previous ones were a no go, and the vote was for more simple, clean lines, what about these? Benjamin Walk Dakin in white.

    I don't like any - Sorry!

I really think with so much detail in your dress, plainer shoes would look much nicer.

All to fussy for me sorry. A plainer pair would look better as the detailing on your dress is "in depth".

I love shoes with detailing on. Also as it's a long dress and no one will see the shoes but you, you can wear whichever pair you like.

No 4 is my fave followed by no 2.

If i had to chose i'd go for number 3 - but my concern would be that detailing would drive you mad catching on your dress - the flower on number 4 especially.

I'd go for something simple, these are expensive, but there are copies all over the high street:

WSS....I think with such a detailed dress less is def more with the shoes. Push come to shove option 2 are my favourite.

I think I would honestly go for a classic pointed shoe like [View:http://www.girlsofelegance.co.uk/acatalog/Keira-Closed-Toe-Wedding-Shoes.html:550:0]

or something simliar (i don't particuarly like them either but trying to give the style!)

I agree that they are all a bit fussy. Your dress has a lot of detail and it is absolutely beautiful. I think you need a show that is quite simple.

Out of the shoes that you have posted I do prefer number 2.

The shoes in pic 1 are actually normally plain... they have had stuff stuck on to them. I know this as the plain version were my shoes. They are REALLY comfy and I wore my all day long.

They are called Crush from Pink by Paradox.

No 2 of the options provided, but I agree that a plainer shoe would work better.

Agreed. I think something in plain satin would be nice.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that the Diane Hassall ones are my fave - I love most of her shoes though!

I think they'd be fine with your dress although I'd want to try both on together just to make sure. I'm not so sure that a plainer pair would look right, in much the same way that the fancy DH shoes didn't look right with my plain dress.

    Buy them and find out!?

I like option 2, however as said before the details may well catch on yours dress. Bear in mind the length of the dress and that the shoes won't be visible I would opt for a simpler option too.

With your dress being so long and full-skirted no-one is going to see your shoes anyway so get which ever are your faves! The last ones are amazing!!

In the nicest possible way...they are all really bad and look like something of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

I'm sorry about it, especially as your dress is so elegant and lovely. Those shoes though. Honestly if one of my friends lifted their wedding dress to show my their shoes and it was any pair of those I'd either be hysterical with laughter or feel really embarrassed for them. Hope I haven't offended you but wanted to be honest!!
