Help - Worried

Little Miss Princess, 3 October, 2011 at 10:12 Posted on Planning 0 9

I get married in approx 10 months time, and I received "the Call" on Saturday.

I was with a friend and she commented on the fact I'd turn white and was shaking. I was petrified. I am! Not because I'm worried I won't like it, but wondering whether this is the right thing to do.

I think I'm starting to get cold feet. I can't talk to H2B, as he'll go crazy. I love him more than anything, but I wonder whether this is what I really want.

Anyone got any advice?

I'm confused are you worried about getting married at all or is this a dress wobble?

If your having any doubts at all, you need to speak to your OH. He needs to know how your feeling. Hiding it from him will only make things worse for you both in the long run.

Communication is Key! as they say!

    Good Luck!

Sorry I got the dress call. My dress is ready for trying on. We've been together a long time, and share a house together, this what makes it difficult

Is it the marriage that is bothering you or the type of day you have planned?

Either way, you need to talk to your OH.

Be honest with him and yourself.

I agree with what everyone else has said - if your not 100% sure, even a slight wobble then i'd urge you to speak too your OH.

It may help to focus on which bit your not happy with. Are you certain you want to be with your OK? Certain you want to get married? (it's not for everyone - and they are still happy), certiain you want to do it that way?

    Good luck

A simple reality check because something concrete has happened. You love him more than anything, you have been together ages and you already share your lives. Of course it's the right thing to do* ?

    *Providing money/etc not an issue.

I had a wobble before my first marriage and ignored it. 3 months later... Sigh.

As FTLOMB says, it probably is a wobble as it's a "sh!t, this is really happening. Scary but cool" moment. But think about it properly and speak to your OH. You have to talk about big things now, you're getting married!! ?

I had this when H2b proposed - I was really scared, and it took a week to give him an answer. I realised eventually that it wasn't that I didn't want to be his wife, I did (and do), it was that I didn't want to do the whole wedding thing, saying the vows, having all those people there etc. I wanted to BE married, not GET married. Maybe this is similar for you?

(FWIW, we resolved this by agreeing to marry abroad with no guests to take some of the pressure off, and I have no qualms about life with him after the wedding Smiley smile)
