hellyf, 19 October, 2008 at 19:23 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi,

i am just asking for some inspiration on what we could have as our wow factor for our wedding, we get married in march so outdoor games and ice cream vans are a no no. our colour scheme is choc brown, gold, pink and a bit of cream, we had already thought of a choc fountain but h2b says thats already been done and was wondering if here is antything else we could do to surprise people!

Thanks

H xx

If you want something for a sweet tooth, why not have a retro sweets/pick n' mix bar somewhere in the venue. I know a few people on here have done it - and if you have a Macro card its really not that expensive.

    Just a thought....

    Hey.

This may not be along the lines of what you were thinking of, but the one 'wow' factor that got everyone talking at my wedding was the flowers. We had a similar colour scheme to you....choc brown, ivory, gold and a kinda champagney colour. BUT, our flowers were all burnt orange. Really stood out and EVERYBODY commented on how lovely they were.

We also had a string quartet play for the drinks reception, and throughout the meal. We were also really lucky with the weather so had them playing outside too, and again, had such lovely comments from people saying it just added something extra.

Apologies for the massiveness of the picture!

D'oh, should've explained myself better......clearly, orange flowers may look a little odd with your colours! Just meant you could go for brighter flowers (in your case, pink?).

My head is all fuddled....i don't even think i'm making sense anymore!?

We had crystal bouquets and buttonholes instead of flowers, a croquembouche as wedding cake which was also used as the dessert.

People also commented on our horse and carriage and ice sculpture as well as the casino, Wonka Bar favours and balloon release that was done.

What about dance lessons and wow everyone with your first dance... we have had lessons and have had great fun, very nervous about doing it though. The moves aren't very dramatic just some tango and foxtrot steps!!
