Hen Do - Bath?

Buzzee, 12 March, 2011 at 15:10 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hello

I'm bored today so thought would start looking at hen do options! I like the idea of Bath, has anyone been and can they recommend any activities, bars, restaurants or clubs suitable for a hen do?

Will prob be around 10 of us so will prob just stay at the travelodge waterside as its cheap and cheerful. I liked the idea of renting an apartment/house but most seem to be well outside the town and would rather be more central - so if anyone knows of somewhere please let me know!

Look forward to any recommendations!

Mrs C had hers there a few weeks back and loved it, I will send her to this thread if I see her.

Plus I have stayed at the central travelodge and its basic but clean and just what Hens need really.

    Hi

My sister lives near Bath, its a lovely place.

You could go to Bath Spa (think its called Bath Therma Spa) in the day, its lush and they do group booking I think.

I live 10-15 mins from Bath & there is so much to do there. You can get the train into Bristol too for a few quid & come shopping at Cabot Circus.

    Hi

Bath is lovely. I would recommend staying at the Central Travelodge as it's right next to the shops and lots of nice bars. Good hen activities would be shopping, going to the Thermae Bath Spa (I would just do 2 hours, not 4 as it's cheaper and it's not that massive) or afternoon tea at the Pump Room.

If you go make sure you find Ben's Cookies as they are amazing! For clubs I think they're all underground a bit sweaty but I think Second Bridge is the best. There's loads of wine bar type places and pubs. For food, I'd recommend Martini Italian restaurant as they welcome you like old friends and the food is great. Jamie Oliver has an Italian there too.

    I'm sure you'd have a great time x

Thanks all. Is the Waterside Travelodge that far from the main part of town (i.e the shops/restaurants?). We'd like a cheesy club for the evening - would PoNaNas be the best bet. Just somewhere that plays party music rather than anything too cool!

tea at the pump rooms sounds up my street! and maybe the spa for the morning after the night before!

I went to a hen do in Bath but we did a package deal so stayed in a B&B very near the centre. We did a cocktail making class at Revolution which was very fun and they provided lunch. The rest of the day we mooched around the shops and went for a drink in a bar with a veranda which was lovely. We went out at night and there are quite a few bars in the centre (its not a massive place so you'd easily come across them) Revolution was packed and really good and then we went to a nightclub which played cheese but I cant remember the name (sorry!).

The next day everyone went to the Bath spa as well.

Its a lovely place - worth having your hen do there definitely!

We went 2 weeks ago and it was awesome. We stayed at the Central Travelodge (the family room we were in was huge!) which is right in the middle of everything. We had a burlesque class which was at the Beau Nash literally down the road about 50 yards, dinner in ASK, just round the corner, drinks in a VIP area in Revolution which is next door to the hotel and then went to the Blue Rooms which is the club underneath the hotel! Music was great, drinks not too pricey and locations perfect!
