hen do problem....

kelly1988, 1 May, 2012 at 21:26 Posted on Planning 0 7

When I booked my hen do through a company there was a few people said they would come. Now they are saying they can't come as they can't afford it.

There's gonna be about 6 of us but I don't know if thats enough for us for a hen do.

The plan is we're going to Liverpool for a night (im based near Leeds) doing cocktails making, meal then having a night out, it is £104.95 in total for the package...

....don't know wether to carry on doing this or just cancel it and stay local!

I'm probably over thinking things as I know whats important is the wedding and getting married and i think ive hyped the hen do up a bit...

The same thing happened to me when i was planning my sisters hen do and in the end she said f**K it and we ended up just having a casual meal and few drinks and it just wasn't at all anything like or as fun as i had been planning for her and she regrets now not letting me continue with what i had planned for those 6 of us who were still going. So IMO i say still do what you have planned otherwise you will constantly have the one you had planned on your mind. The girls who do go will all still enjoy it and are the ones who mean the most by sticking by you and still going. It will also be a little nicer not having too many. Hope you get it sorted and enjoy what ever you choose hun x

I had the same problem, I only have 4 now and only 1 of my 3 bridesmaids. But were gonna have an amazing time without everyone else. Sometimes a smaller group is better xx

I would still continue with your plans, maybe you could do a cheap night out locally for those hens that couldn't afford your original one.

I'd check with the organiser that there's not a minimum number requirement (6 was the min number for my cocktail making, so I reckon you should be fine) and if 6 is enough for them, just go with it! Don't change your plans just because of drop-outs, you'll still have a wonderful time Smiley smile

Thanks guys......ive realised these are the friends who always come out with me so they are my real friends and we will have a good time I think it will be better as I wont have to please loads of people.

I checked the minimum and it is 6 for cocktail making so we will be ok.

I'm not gonna change my plans because if I did the people that dropped out probably still wouldnt come and you're right it would always be on the back of my mnd what I would have been doing.

I'd also recommend checking minimum numbers of anything you have organised, but from the hen do's I've attended I have to say the ones that had fewer people at them were much more enjoyable as everyone seemed to more involved so don't be put off by having less people than you were expecting.

I went to Blackpool for my Hen Do and there were only six of us - it was immense! People ask me how it went, and I say...

...Carlsberg don't make Hen Dos, but if they did...(you get the idea)

It's the quality, not the quantity, that makes a great Hen Do!
