Hen Do Report!

emjjarvy, 11 August, 2014 at 11:57 Posted on Planning 0 2

Have not been around on here much recently! Had a busy few weeks/ months for good and bad reasons... good reasons - was at OH's cousins wedding down in South Wales (amazing day), had OH's parents over from France for a week staying with us, and.....had my Hen do at the weekend.

Bad reasons, my boss and friend of 7 years suddenly passed away a couple of weeks ago. Still cant beleive it has happened. Work has been horrendous as I have had to step up and into his shoes straight away, which just feels wrong, as well has trying to deal with his death. For those of you that dont know I'm getting married in SW France (as OH parents have retired out there) but we had to do the legal bit in the UK first. We did this on 28th July as OHs mum really wanted to be there. That afternoon I had to drive down to London for my friends funeral the next day. All very surreal.

My hen came at the right time as it was a couple of weeks after the funeral so have had a bit of time to get my head together, and felt so loved by my amazing friends and family. The Hen Do was fab fab fab. My bridesmaids deserve actual medals! They kept the whole thing a secret and all I knew is that I was getting picked up at 10AM on Friday!!

We eventually arrived in a little village between Bristol and Bath, at the most beautiful cottage!! That afternoon we had a champagne tea party in the cottage and my Birdesman did a quiz for the evening, including an 'Emily' round! The next day was one of the best days I have ever had! In the monring we walked down to the village hall and they had arranged a dirty dancing dance lesson, so so so much fun!! I even did the lift! Ha!! Saturday afternoon was spent in the Spa, whcih was very conveniently located next to the cottage so we could wander over in our bathrobes and swimsuits. I had a facial which was great, and we all spent a few hours sat in the jacuzzi with more fizz!!

That evening we had food delivered (some yum canapes!) and had a couple of pizzas and some more fizz before heading into Bristol to... REFLEX! Loved it! Am a big 80s/cheese fan and we all had a brilliant time dancing away until the minibus picked us up at 2AM!

And we all love a flash so here are a few pics from the weekend! The last pic is of one of the wine glasses which I decorated and made charms for! Did one for each of the hens!

Thought I would share!! I feel so lucky to have such good friends, and after recent events it has made me appreciate them even more, and realise what is important (sorry for the mushy-ness?) xx

Ooh, very jealous of your dance lesson! I want to be Baby......!!!

Seriously, though, so glad that you were able to enjoy it all. Life is short x
