Hen night help

Jungle J, 3 April, 2009 at 19:28 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi

Please help. We are organising our friend's hen night and we are struggling to think of ideas. You guys were all really helpful when I was planning my wedding so I thought you might be able to help. Our friend doesn't drink and doesn't really do going out clubbing. She wants something on a Saturday that can be flexible for people's budgets.

What are you doing or did you do for your hen nights?

Thanks in advance

JJ

    When is her hen night?

If the weather was good you could have a picnic? Or how about a posh tea party with cakes and little sandwiches where you all have to dress up for it?

    ?

Those are great ideas. We haven't sorted the date yet but I think it will be in May so I'm not sure if the weather will be ok for a picnic. The tea party is a good idea, she loves cake and tea.

We need ideas for the evening too but I can't think of what we can do if she doesn't want to go to a pub or club.

What about going to the theatre/cinema in the evening? Or having an ann summers party or virgin vie party? Or something like that?

Not sure where you are based but I wanted to go to Pret a Port tea, is afternoon tea based on fashion etc so all pretty cakes and biscuits shaped like handbags

Im not doing that now, going to cabaret on a flashdance theme night!

Would she like to go to a casino? Pamper day at a local spa or hotel?

I'm not sure what budget you're aiming for but I also hate clubbing so we're going to London for a bit if shopping followed by a light lunch and then hopefully cocktail making. Then it's off for a champagne cruise on the London Eye followed by a nice meal and some more cocktails.

I think the spa ideas is a good one, no alcohol involved. Not sure what budget you are aiming for but you could try a Warner Hotel with a spa, they offer spa days (Which basically means you walk around in a bath robe and slippers all day. YAY!

But you get to use all of their facilities i.e. swimming pool, sauna, steam room, ice room, aromatherapy room etc, these sort of things are available from £40.00 to £70.00 for the day. But it is a great way to completely relax and forget about everything i.e. Wedding Planning etc

Just an idea, Hoe it helps in some way?

Jennifer at Islington's Make Lounge is getting a bit of cult following with hen's in this area - she offers mean cupcakes too ;-)

From what she tells me the hens use it as the first stop before going out on the town on their 'hen night'. A popular class is something like making your own Tiara or Fascinator.
