Hen Night Ideas...Please.......

kittyboo, 16 June, 2008 at 11:58 Posted on Planning 0 9

Im trying to get ideas together for my hen night as people want to know fairly soon (even though it is likely to be 8 months away!!) so that they can save up if nessacary and make sure then can come. Me and MY Bms drew up a list the other day of people to invite there was 25!! to me that seems loads! and im trying to look at the list to see if i can split it into two groups maybe?!? I dont know..

Anyhow im struggling for ideas- i dont nessacarily want anything clubbing/bars/dressing up etc. I want something a bit more chilled out with champers and pampering maybe or weekend away somewhere (not too costly) and im really at a loss i have random ideas but nothing coherent to fit into a weekend ( i def want it to be a weekend) any ideas? what have other people done?

i would be very greatful

TIA

We used a website called Freedom (I think) and have booked a weekend in Leeds at the Hilton (which has a spa), pole dancing, a meal out and a night at a comedy club with a disco afterward. It's £160 each. To be honest if I had more less-close friends coming I wouldn't have picked something that pricey, I would have stayed local (which I'm doing as well with work type people) but this is just for my 7 best friends and I wouldn't hesitate to spend that money for their do in return.

My b'maids arranged for 2 nights in Manchestrer with a mexican on the first night and a club, then spa day on the saturday and then meal at tiger tiger and club. This is £155 and then the trains from b'ham are £11 return but from london as I have hens in both are £40.

It was arranged through red seven to start with then I got involved (see post on Red Seven)

I'm also having a work do local in brum for about 25 work peoples.

the main manchester night started off as about 20 but ended up with 9 - which is better.

    good luck!!

I started off with a list of 18, but ended up with 8 - some people couldn't afford it, another friend is due to have a baby the month before etc. We are going up to the highlands and staying in a wigwam and going here: https://goape.co.uk/ContentArticle.aspx?Id=114

I've no idea what I'm going to do for mine, but I've been to a few really reat Hen nights in the past couple of years.

For my SIL2B's hen, some of us went to a spa in the morning which was heavenly! After, we met up with the others at my flat where the other BM's and myself had prepared an afternoon tea complete with little sandwiches, scones, jam and cream and cupcakes with the brides name on them. There were pink L-plate balloons all over the place as that was the wedding colour. I really enjoy making cocktails, so there were a selection of 4 martini's named after the bride on offer. Once we were nicely tipsy, we went out to a restaurant for dinner. Was a really great day and didn't cost the Earth (all the girls chipped in a tenner towards food and booze and then the meal was quite reasonable for our area)

Went to a Hen a few weeks ago where we all went to Fortnum and Mason's for afternoon tea... really nice alternative to a boozey night and suited the bride perfectly. Definitely going back there sometime.

Other things that are good to do on Hen's are things like salsa or pole dancing classes.

oooh lucky thing. I didn`t even think of Edinburgh-it`s my favourite city. I chose Blackpool (I momentarily lost my mind-no offence to Blackppol people), we are doing quad biking followed by a meal, funny girls drag show and then a 70s disco. I think theres 20-30 going so needed to do some activities to keep us all occupied and break the ice. Its costing £100 each including hotel and meal (dread to think what they`ll be like for that price!!!!!!)

Sorry for slow reponse-Ive been doing some work (which makes a change).

MrsJewkes- Sounds like good activities- looked at the previous thread am officially put off by red seven however, Jamie sounds scary.

Loobyg- Im hoping that some will drop out of mine- in the nicest way possible as im feeling quite anxious about everyone "mixing well". Go ape looks fab, but hen do is in March so will be fookin freezing and some of my prissy hens will be up to that challenge (me included). A few friends have had some great times there tho, ill look forward to your report as i would like to go one day.

Fenella and Claires- MMMMM champagne and spa and chocolates sounds lush the more i think abotu it the more my weekend will def have to include some sort of spa type activity!

Mogwai- Your friends do's sound great particularly the spa morning, afternoon tea and meal!I hope my friends are as lovely as you and your lot the cocktails- lovely touch! I would especially appreciate this as im a bit of a booze hound in the nicest possible way ;-)

Spring- I have toyed with a comedy club idea too, would be funny especially with some of my little hens!

Donnaj36- Blackpool will be a riot- surely one you wont forget!

    thanks for all ideas ladies...
