Hen nights...

MrsB-to-be, 22 January, 2013 at 15:27 Posted on Planning 0 20

Wedding is in May so really need to plan the hen do...

To be honest im lacking inspiration. Im not really all that bothered about having a hen do, particularly as my friends are dotted all over the country and I have a feeling a lot won't be able to make it, regardless of where I have it.

Just wondered what you guys are doing/ did for yours? Xx

I've just planned mine last night with MOH.

    One night in Harrogate.

Arrive mid afternoon - have dinner around 4/5pm - hen related activities at apartment before cocktail making class at 9pm - night out at The Viper Rooms at 11pm. Next morning - breakfast and a film - afternoon tea at Betty's at 1pm - Turkish Baths at 3pm - set off home around 5/6pm.

It's roughly costing £150, but there are elements that people can skip - such as the cocktail making and the baths.

    HTH.

Mine has just been sorted, cocktails in Oxford and then out for tapas! Nice and simple.

Is there somewhere you could all meet that would be a bit more central for everyone or is everyone too far apart? Could you make it a weekend meet-up, obviously depends on budget but you could all stay in a hotel, go out for a nice meal somewhere?

Team Bride have got a meeting tomorrow for this!

Probably an afternoon meal for a very small number of us, then a hired room hall with as many girls as we can get together, pub quiz, karaoke, disco and food.

Why not stay home and have a soiree? Or a small murder mystery party with those games you can buy? Or an evening baking goodies with a glass or 3 of wine? You could make a little 'event' of something really nice indoors, even if you all made some food each and just were in the same place for a couple of hours.

I'm in this exact position.. I'm not bothered about a hen do and don't particularly want one either.

People keep on asking me what I'm doing for my hen do and I just can't be bothered thinking about it to be honest.. there would probably only be me, the MOH, my mum, OH's mum and auntie and OH's sister..

I was thinking about Alton Towers but that's more for 'us young'uns' apparently..

I think I would much prefer if we just all went for a meal and a couple of drinks the night before the wedding..

This wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea...or budget! But we are going to Disneyland Paris, will be roughly 8 of us and I am very lucky that everyone happy to pay the expensive price tag and not had anyone say no yet Smiley smile some of the hens were the ones who suggested it because they know I love disneyland paris lol! I am so excited! Think it helps that hen do is still just over a year away so lots of time to save etc x

We're probably going to do one of the 90s themed adult weekends at butlins, cheap and cheerful- plus plenty to do during the day!

Oops have neglected my thread... naughty!!

I'm glad it's not just me that's not too bothered about having one!

I think I'm really put off by the fac I have 3 very separate groups of friends - 1 group are about 300 miles away, other group other side of country, then a couple of good friends (and BM) where I live now. I'm already having to drag 2 groups of mates 200-300 miles to where we're getting married, so I feel so stuck with organising hen do as well!!

I enjoy a good night out, but I'm not exactly a huge drinker. The thought of going out for a really nice meal and a few drinks appeals to me much more, but I feel so boring!!

I did think about doing a Spa day, then meal then few drinks? But again... location is just a huge pain. Maybe I should stop worrying and just organise something, I guess those who want to come will make the effort to travel?

I'm going to Vegas with my MoH but my other good friend and bridesmaid isn't coming, so with her we'll do a spa morning followed by afternoon tea somewhere nice. I'm not interested in a boozy night out so that suits us fine.

I didn't really fancy going clubbing etc so we were pampered for the day at a spa and then went to a comedy club in the evening followed by a bar.

Butlins Big Weekend - 90s Reloaded (my uni years relived). There are sixteen going, approximately £130 including acccommodation and entertainment for three nights plus a little extra for food as we have gone self catering. Been to a couple of there before and everyone does fancy dress so MOH are doing one night as Scary and Ginger Spice and another as Wayne and Garth and another in Hen Do tshirts with everyone else.

My MOH and bms are organising mine and keeping it secret. I'm glad about this as then I don't have to deal with any dramas that occur! Think it will be a weekend thing somewhere in the UK. Going to have a second family-friendly one, just a meal or something, closer to the date,

We are going to Marbella in June 2013 for the brides hen weekend. Its kind of a tradition now ?. This is our 3rd year. I went last yr for my hen do & another friends, and now our friend wants to go back for hers. It gets better every year and seems to be the most popular place to go for hen weekends.

I reccommend going to marbella and make sure you go to Linekers for the hen party package and the cheeky butlers are a great laugh!! ?

We always book with Solisol travel, they are brilliant. very professional and they deal with everything from accommodation to airport transfers, activities & all night time stuff. They are based in Spain so know Marbella inside out and they even have a 24hr on call service if you have any problems out there. They even have a individual payment option so everyone in the group can pay their own balance so leaves the stress of collecting everyone's money [:'(]

Hope everyone has a great time wherever you all go!! xxx ?

I'm going to a take that tribute night at a hotel nearby. Includes meal, late night bar and disco. Its ideal for me as it means my mum and aunties can get involved and its cheap too, especially helpful as we're dragging everyone over to Ibiza for our wedding!
