Hen Nights/Weekends - Who's organising it and what are you doing??

soon-to-be-Mrs-King, 20 April, 2012 at 13:04 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi Ladies

I was just wondering what everybody is doing on for their hen parties. I have having 3 different 'hen nights'.

1. Is with the girls from work, a group of us (10) are going to see 'Rock You' and then out for drinks afterwards, they have arranged this and I thought it was so lovely of them.

2. Is with my bridesmaids and close friends (about 12 of us) I don't really know anything about this my bridesmaids are arraning it and are keeping very tight lipped. All I know is the date, i've been told to get a burlesque outfit and I know it will be a very messy day/night. lol

3. This one is for all my friends/family that are not going on hen no. 2, one of my bridesmaids is arranging this and it will more than likely be a night out on the town hitting a few bars.

Are you organising your hen yourself or is your chief bridesmaid or someone else organising it?

Where are you all going?

I'm having one in London with my MOH and my UK-based friends. I would like to have a hand in organizing it, but my MOH said I shouldn't be organizing my own hen party. So, I've stopped making suggestions, as I think she really wants to carry the torch on this one, and I want to be fair to her. Smiley smile

2nd one - i went for a meal around the village i live in with all my friends and family. my chief bridesmaid organised that one and it was a really good night

Im having one, for my close friends and mum etc. We're off to manchester, which I chose cos this is where the majority of people (not me) live so I thought it might keep costs down a bit.

I've booked a nice hotel with a spa and pool etc (because my CB wasn't doing anything at all about it!) and my plan is that we can check in, have an afternoon of pampering followed by a nice meal and night out.

It's backfired on me now though, because most of the pepole who live in Manchester have decided they aren't staying in the hotel, so are only coming for the meal and night out, which I'm quite disappointed with! I'm worried it's just going to feel like a usual girls night out!

One of my other BMs has got involved now though after I've done a bit of whinging abot my CB, and I know she has got a few surprises planned, so fingers crossed it will still be fun!

My bridesmaids are organising mine. I asked if they would do this as I would probably end up organising a last minute thing!!

I was asked to provide a list of who I would like to be included and thats all I know, apart from it is abroad for 2 nights (they needed by passport number!) They've also told me the date of when we are going away and thats it ?

The main theme of the hen night has been jointly organised by me and my CBM together.

We're gathering at the local town pub for drinks first, having a taxi to Frankie & Bennys for a meal, then we have a party bus picking us up for an hour on that, then doing a bar crawl in town.

My CBM has a few surprises up her sleeve by the sounds of things!

And I'm still trying to decide what to do on the Friday and/or Saturday day time. I really fancy a pampering session somewhere!

    I'm having 2/3 haha

Im going to Ibiza for 3 nights in July. I was looking at going away with one of those hen party websites but I used to work in Ibiza so thought I'd out my contacts to use an its only cost £156 for hotel and flights so can't complain!

Then I'm going out in Manchester where I live when we're back as some people couldn't come abroad and we've just found out at work that we've won tickets to go to the Olympics so the girls at work are thinking of doing something then too. Haha anything for a drink eh!

At work today tho Ive had someone enquire about a hen party to New York! That's doing it in style haha

    I had 3:

    1) weekend in cottage with friends, lots of food, ceramic painting activity, bad jumper party. This was all a surprise and planned by bridesmaids.

    2) theatre and meal with my mum, aunts and cousins, I arranged this

    3) Go Ape/meal with work colleagues.

Never set out to have 3 but loved them all. Make the most of it!!

Not sure if I am control freak or if my BMs just didnt move fast enough!!

I am having one hen do. I am involved in the planning as I know what I don't want so had to make sure I would enjoy it.

We are just starting with a mini bus to Stratford upon Avon, Cream Tea in a restaurant, River cruise on The Avon followed by drinks and games in a private area in a bar followed by limo bus cruising for an hour with bubbly then on to a lovely restaurant. We are staying local to keep costs down and everyone is coming so I am really pleased.
