Hi Kelly1988 - I really didn't fancy just going out round town on the lash - I wanted to remember my hen do for more than 'just a night out'.

My hen do is booked in at the end of April - a 20's themed Murder Mystery Night. Includes a four course meal too. Can't wait!

What ideas have you had so far? x Good luck!

I'm having one next weekend with my mum and friends - we're going to London for a weekend, going to the theatre and doing a cocktail making class. Then I'm having a joint one with another lady at work who gets married on the same day as me, and we're having a cocktail making class - I'll be an expert after 2 of them haha!!

My bridesmaids are arranging mine but I have given them some ideas of what I want and none of it involves traipsing around a city centre dressed like a whore. My worst nightmare!

I was going to go abroad for a few nights but didnt want to expect people to pay out and then find out alot of people wouldn't be able to make it, id rather have my friends there.

I wanted one that suited as many people as possible, so one night away in Brighton, beauty treatment each with a glass of bubbly in the beauty salon shown on Katy and Peter (no we are not having fake tans lol) then we are staying in a cheap hotel, going to 'dream boys', not what i initially wanted but looks like fun! get a cocktail, buffet meal and get to watch strippers, caberet, comedy and drag act before getting free club entry. I did want to make it two nights, going to a spa for the day and 'go ape' as well but it was just too expensive and people couldnt take time off work. BM's are sorting a dress code, thats what I am nervous about!!!!!!

One of my friends had a meal night in town with tons of people, SPA day with her BM's, and cream tea with family.

Three weeks before the wedding we're having a cocktail making class followed by dinner, drinks and dancing. Then staying in a hotel and having brunch the next day. I've asked my bridesmaids for a bit of tack but not too much! On the Thursday before the wedding me, mum and my sister are having manicures, pedicures, a massage and lunch. Looking forward to it ?

All my friends came up to Birmingham. We had a buffet style lunch at home (my bridesmaids decorated the house) then we all went for a cheerleading lesson which was SO much fun. Everyone got involved and we had such a laugh. Then back to mine for drinks and getting ready. Out for a meal and then drinks and dancing. Quite a few people stayed over my house so carried it on in the morning. Had such a great time and with the different elements of the day it meant everyone could choose what they wanted to do. Which meant at some point in the day I got to see all my friends and family.

This is a helpful thread as i am struggling what to do for mine! Don't really want just a night out but struggling to think of ideas that arent really expensive. Def like the idea of cocktail making, so that's got to happen at some point! xx

Mine is at the beginning of April. 12 of us are staying in a cottage in Kent and going to Go Ape on the Saturday and having a fancy night in on the Saturday.

That is all I know though, the rest will be a surprise. I am so excited.

Ive had a couple of ideas for unusual things.

im history and jane austen obsessed which is why they appeal!

saw this at the wedding show http://www.medievalbanquet.com/index.html which i thought looked fun

another thing ive seen which is part of the jane austen festival in bath every year. is an regency evening at netherfield. lol regency tea and dancing, dressing up! etc would be a good laugh!

deff dont want a standard night out, not really my thing

I've been thinking about mine for the last few weeks too - thought I'd go for a few different ideas. Am hopefully going to Ladies Day at Epsom Racecourse with my sisters (bridesmaids), mum and aunt in June and have asked people to keep a Saturday night in July free when we'll all go for a meal or something. Just put a message out on Facebook last weekend to keep the date free and have already had about 17 confirmations (bless 'em), even though I haven't decided what we'll be doing or where we'll be going!

I could make them do anything now! ?

We're going to spain next May for a long weekend (Fri-Mon). 10 of us going, then having a local night out for all the others that couldn't afford or make it.

After my BM(and future SIL) let me down big style with the organising *sigh* I planned my own.

We are doing cocktail making, private dining and then dancing/cocktails. All in a very posh cocktail lounge so posh frocks at the ready, no fancy dress!

I ummed and aahed for ages about mine, I really wanted to do something that I love but it was difficult to find something that either everyone else would also love, or isn't too expensive for them if they decide to do it because I want them to, or people can opt in or out of bits of it.

I've settled on going ice skating at the outdoor rink in Leeds, then a spot of shopping, then out for a meal then cocktail making and drinks after at a bar. If people decide to do all of it it'll be £75 each including hotel (but extra drinks will be more obviously) so I don't think that's too bad.
