Everyone is asking about this, I'm not sure. Hope that helps LOL. I would like to go away somewhere hot for a few days but would still need to do something closer to home.

Me and three friends are flying out the Paris for 2 nights/3 days in February where we'll just go sight seeing, eat nice food, drink nice drinks, chil out by the hotels swimming pool or in our room as its a 'quad' room so none of us are separated. We'll then organise a meal out for everyone else closer to home as a couple of friends I wanted to go to Paris couldn't make it (Passport/travel sickness issues) and then I can also invite some family and close work colleages too.

We're going to Norwich for a night. Stay in a hotel, drinks, meal and dancing.

I'm a bit of a control freak so am organising the itinerary (makes sense as Norwich is my home town so I know the haunts!) but bridesmaids will take over with the inviting and booking stuff.

Reading this reminded me that I didn't originally want one, I'm afraid I've never really seen the point. But now OH's best man has organised a trip away for his, I feel like I have to do something to keep up! Maybe afternoon tea and then out in London, as that's where the majority of my girly friends are.

I originally thought this as I didnt like the idea of going out drinking like your 'normal' hen do - but its so not that. I spend so much time with OH, I can honestly say that until I'm out with friends and enjoying myself, I just want to be at home with him - so this hen do is more about spending quality time with friends, away from any partners and having a girly time. I very much doubt in the future I'll have the chance to go away for days with friends on my own as we'll be moving on with our family lives, so unless of course its one of their hen do's and I'll make the effort, its not something I expect to do again.

Exactly the same! I wasn't fussed, just an extra thing to organise...but then I found out that my fiance's friends are taking him on an all expenses paid long weekend to Ibiza, so I'm b*ggered if I'm staying at home on my tod!

So I've arranged a Famous Five themed hen weekend (a weekend rather than a night cos I've got friends coming from all over) on the Isle of Wight! It's local to me, my mum lives there- it's not exactly the med- but there'll be treasure hunting, picnics, ice-cream, kayaking, catching bad guys and lashings and lashings of (alcoholic) ginger beer! Not forgetting Timmy the dog. We're staying in the most AMAZING converted old scout hut too which has all been done out in proper 50s vintage gear. Looks AMAZING! It has BUNK BEDS! I am glad I'm doing it now- really excited! ?

Just spotted my overuse of the word 'AMAZING' in the above post. Apologies.
